Over the past 18 months, Rebel Wilson has lost over 60 pounds, but internet trolls are still bullying her. Wilson opened up about her weight loss journey to The Weekend Briefing podcast on Listnr. She started her recent weight loss journey in 2020 and says that she is proud of herself.

But, the comments aren’t all negative. There are, of course, fans who support Wilson and are happy for her for transitioning to a healthier lifestyle.

During the podcast, the actress explained that her weight loss journey was really more about a change in habits towards eating healthier and living a healthy lifestyle, rather than simply losing weight for the numbers. She even dubbed 2020 the “Year of Health.”

Wilson focused primarily on her fertility and on avoiding emotional eating. Wilson has opened up on Instagram about infertility, having polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and her decision to freeze her eggs. She stated that a doctor suggested to her that her fertility would improve if she lost some weight.

Wilson also reflected on how she now “shamelessly” shares photos of herself on Instagram: “For the first time in my life I've lost weight and haven't yoyoed back and put the weight back on, which is what has happened to me in the past.” She mentioned that part of the reason she was so public with her weight loss journey was the accountability factor. If she shared it, she would feel more responsible for following through with it.

According to People magazine, the Pitch Perfect actress has been following the Mayr Method diet plan. This diet focuses on alkaline foods and mindful eating. It discourages consuming coffee, alcohol, sugar, gluten, and dairy (specifically cow’s milk). One of the diet’s main tenets is that gut health is important, especially when it comes to weight. In 2020, Rebel also trained with celebrity personal trainer, Jono Castano, up to six times a week.
