As one of the funnier women in Hollywood, Rebel Wilson is no stranger to having all eyes on her thanks to her work on the big screen. Wilson has had plenty of hits, including the Pitch Perfect franchise and a feature in Workaholics, and she has carved out a unique place for herself in the industry.

The actress has recently undergone an incredible transformation into living a healthier lifestyle, which has been amazing to see. Naturally, people are curious as to how she made it happen.

Let’s take a look at how Rebel Wilson stepped up her fitness game.

Wilson Made Some Huge Changes

Body transformations in Hollywood are nothing new, but most of the time, a celebrity will undergo a major transformation for an upcoming role. For Rebel Wilson, her transformation has been an entire lifestyle shift in an attempt to get healthier for herself and her well-being.

During her career, Wilson has had no issues with making people laugh on the big screen, but she did have a problem with one thing: sweets. That’s right, the star actress has a major sweet tooth, and this was something that she needed to work on during her fitness journey.

Wilson told Drew Barrymore, “For the last few years, I've been theme-ing my years. I had the 'Year of Fun,' last year I had the 'Year of Love,' and this year [it's been] the 'Year of Health'.”

“I never really focused on my health, which was probably obvious. I was going all around the world jet-setting everywhere and eating a ton of sugar. That was kind of my vice. I have a very sweet tooth. I love desserts,” she continued.

Not only was Rebel going to have to find a way to quell her sweet tooth, but she was also going to have to step up her workout game. This process is a difficult one that takes an immense amount of sacrifice and dedication, but as we have all gotten to see, Wilson has done an amazing job with sticking to the plan.

The Workout Plan

To get her workout plan on point, Rebel Wilson leaned on personal trainer Jono Castano. Castano mentioned that he and Wilson were training almost every single day, focusing on HIIT and doing some resistance training. He was a huge help, but there was a simple activity that Wilson leaned on.

“I’m in a lucky position ... I do have access to really amazing personal trainers but I want you guys to know that the majority of the exercise that I’ve done this year has just been me going out for a walk. That is free, you can do it, it’s safe,” Wilson told Today.

“I know it’s getting colder…but just give it a go. If you can do an hour — that’s what I like to do when I go walking — it is the best. Just get your body moving,” she continued.

Clearly, Wilson has done a great job of mixing things up with her training routine and has been consistent during her fitness journey. However, working out is only half the battle, and Wilson also needed to ensure that she was switching up the way she eats in order to get to where she is now.

The Diet Plan

Wilson has largely been using the Mayr Method for her dieting, which is all about a large breakfast, followed by smaller meals throughout the day. She has increased her protein intake and has reduced carbs to help her feel fuller, as well. This method has clearly worked for the actress.

The actress has largely shaved down the calories that she has consumed, which has been a boost, of course. Interestingly, she is still willing to east some of the foods that she did in the past. The key difference now is that she is better with portion control and makes sure to stay on track.

Wilson told People, “We’ll be like, 'Should we get In-N-Out burger?' And I'm like, 'Nothing is forbidden.' I can go there, I just might eat half of what I used to eat before. You know? And I'll have a burger, and a few fries, and then you feel fine.”

However, this does not mean that Wilson does not have her moments. She took to social media to say, “Remember though girls, you still gotta treat yourself. (I just do it with food now only once or twice a week...and substitute bubble baths on alternate nights).”
