During the time of the novel pandemic, many stores have gone out of business, and there are businesses that people never thought would go bankrupt. Sources have reported that USPS may have to declare bankruptcy due to the ongoing presence of Covid-19. Many celebrities have called attention to this growing crisis, including Little Fires Everywhere actress Reese Witherspoon.

Save The Postal Office

With election year right around the corner, people are becoming more uncertain of the future of the American presidency. With the US Post Office possibly going out of business, mail-in ballots will no longer be made available to voters, which may lead to disproportionate results during this year’s election. News reports about Donald Trump planning to stall the elections and remove the American vote have people on edge already. Luckily, Reese Witherspoon has made it a priority to stop the corruption of the American government and save the United States Postal Service from going extinct.

In a tweet, Witherspoon told Congress that the USPS’s influence is critical to this upcoming election year, now more than ever. She went on to tell the government that they must ‘act now’ to save the postal service. Witherspoon also included a visual from the People Of American Way Foundation in dedication to the American postal service for their historic role in delivering mail to families everywhere.

The video can also be found on the foundation’s website, which Witherspoon included in her post. People can help stop the USPS from going bankrupt by logging on to the People Of American Way Foundation’s site and signing their name on an online petition designed to urge Congress to fund the Postal Office $25 million during the pandemic.
