There is absolutely no doubt that Barbadian singer Rihanna has become one of the most influential and successful musicians of her generation — after all, RiRi has been in the music industry for 15 years now.

Today’s list explores the musician‘s first 10 songs and it shows just how much Rihanna has actually changed from 2005 until 2008. Yes, she may have started out as the innocent popstar, but it quickly became obvious that RiRi is a force not to be reckoned with. From "Pon De Replay" to "Umbrella" — these are Rhianna’s first 10 songs, in chronological order.

10 "Pon De Replay" (2005)

Kicking the list off is Rihanna's very first single from 2005 — the dance anthem "Pon De Replay." The song was released on May 24, 2005, and it managed to reach number two on both the US Billboard Hot 100 Charts, as well as the UK Singles Charts.

After the success of "Pon De Replay," it was quickly evident that Rihanna was a name people would hear a lot more of!

9 "If It's Lovin' That You Want" (2005)

The next song on the list is Rihanna's second single: "If It's Lovin' That You Want." It was released on August 16, 2005, and in the music video, the Barbadian singer can be seen singing and dancing around on the beach while having plenty of fun with her friends.

"Pon De Replay" and "If It's Lovin' That You Want" are the only two singles that Rihanna released from her debut album, Music of the Sun.

8 "SOS" (2006)

In 2006, Rihanna released her second album, A Girl Like Me, and with it came a slightly more edgy and unapologetic RiRi. The lead single from the album was the bop "SOS," which was released on Valentine's Day — February 14, 2006.

In the music video for "SOS" — which actually samples Soft Cell's 1981 recording of "Tainted Love" — the singer can be seen rocking multiple outfits, as she dances in various different settings.

7 "Unfaithful" (2006)

Next on the list is the song "Unfaithful," which Rihanna released on May 2, 2006. This was Rihanna‘s first single that was a slower ballad and it quickly became very popular due to its dramatic lyrics.

"Unfaithful" was written by musician Ne-Yo, who was very popular at the time, as well. In the music video, RiRi can be seen chatting with her boyfriend, as well as singing and dancing around a piano.

6 "We Ride" (2006)

The last single that the Barbadian star released from her A Girl Like Me album is "We Ride." The song was released on August 21, 2006, and it quickly became a hit.

In the music video, Rihanna is driving a white Jeep as she is singing the song's lyrics. The song definitely has elements of classic hip hop and soul ballads, but RiRi's vocal performance put a fresh spin on it!

5 "Umbrella" Featuring Jay-Z (2007)

"Umbrella" remains as one of Rihanna’s most famous and popular hits and it's hard to believe that it's actually 13 years old. The song — which features rapper Jay-Z, who actually discovered and signed the young Barbadian singer to his label — was released on March 29, 2007, and it announced Rihanna’s third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad.

Of course, the music video for "Umbrella" features plenty of umbrellas and rain, but most people will remember it by Rihanna's asymmetrical bob haircut, which inspired plenty of fans across the globe to switch up their hair!

4 "Shut Up And Drive" (2007)

Considering that only a year earlier Rihanna released her hit "We Ride," plenty were surprised that another car-themed song made it as one of RiRi's singles. On June 12, 2007, Rihanna released the song "Shut Up And Drive" — a song that samples New Order's 1983 single "Blue Monday."

In the music video, Rihanna can be seen in very colorful junkyard where girls are repairing broken cars — and Rihanna, of course, joins them.

3 "Hate That I Love You" Featuring Ne-Yo (2007)

Next on the list is yet another one of Rihanna's collaborations — this time it’s with singer and songwriter Ne-Yo. As previously mentioned, Ne-Yo was a very successful artist in the 2000s who has been a bit quiet in the last decade.

As expected, Ne-Yo co-wrote the lyrics for the midtempo R&B song "Hate That I Love You," which was released on August 21, 2007. In the sultry music video, RiRi can be seen performing the song while getting ready for her day.

2 "Don't Stop The Music" (2007)

Another classic dance anthem from the beginning of Rihanna's career is the song "Don't Stop The Music." It was released on September 7, 2007, and it samples the line "Mama-say, mama-sa, ma-ma-koo-sa" from Michael Jackson's 1983 single, "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin.'"

The music video — which was entirely shot in Prague — shows the Barbadian star singing the song at a nightclub, where she is having plenty of fun with her friends.

1 "Take A Bow" (2008)

The last song on today’s list is "Take A Bow" — the first single Rihanna released from the reissue of her third studio album Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded. "Take A Bow" was released on April 15, 2008, and in the music video, Rihanna debuted her new haircut — a super short pixie.

It's safe to say that by then everyone knew Rihanna was an artist that would stick around for quite some time!
