Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson first made their presence known on the FX/FXX comedy It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia as the egocentric workers at Paddy’s Pub, Ronald “Mac” McDonald and Deandra “Sweet Dee” Reynolds. The on-air duo ended up becoming a couple in real life (something they decided to keep secret.) Eventually marrying in 2008, both Rob and Kaitlin continued on the hit sitcom, raking in quite the collective net worth.

Indeed, McElhenney and Olson have become ingrained in the minds of TV audiences due to their popular Sunny characters, (especially McElhenney and his wacky antics, such as gaining a ton of weight and then losing it in the later seasons.) The couple has branched off and explored other roles to add to their growing fortune, but what does this comedic couple spend their hard-earned money on?

6 Rob McElhenney And Kaitlin Olson's Wedding In Malibu

Rob and Kaitlin first became romantically interested in one another while appearing on It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia together. After two years of dating, the couple decided to make it official, tying the knot in 2008. McElhenney and Olson's wedding ceremony took place at the eye-catching Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu. The nature-themed event was held under a large sycamore tree in the middle of the ranch. Though nothing is written about what the lavish yet rustic event cost the couple, the ceremony was nonetheless not free. Most celebrity weddings cost a pretty penny; however, for this wedding, in particular, fans will have to speculate.

4 Rob McElhenney And Kaitlin Olson Own “Skinner’s Bar” A.K.A. “Mac’s Tavern”

Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson and a bar. What is it about these two and a fine watering hole? In a perfect example of life imitating fiction, the Always Sunny couple decided to purchase a bar back in 2009. Enter: Mac’s Tavern. Located at 226 Market Street in Old City, Philadelphia, PA (no surprise there), the former Skinner’s Bar now brings to life a small piece of Always Sunny in Philly. Though the McElhenney’s are not the exclusive owners of the establishment, they are definitely the most famous. The bar was also featured in Phillyvoice.com in 2017 after calling out a couple who dared to dine-and-dash in Mac’s with a Facebook post. It’s like watching a real life episode of the famous sitcom.

3 Rob McElhenney And Kaitlin Olson Express Themselves Philanthropically

What good is money if you can’t use it to help those of lesser fortune? Well, McElhenney and Olson have done just that. Back in March 2020, in an effort to help combat the effects of COVID-19 on Philabundance (a non-profit Philidelphia food bank), the couple claimed they would match any donations up to 25 thousand. In an Instagram post, Rob wrote,“The McElhenneys are getting drunk! Hope you’re all enjoying your time at home. May we respectfully request that you donate to @philabundance? They’re doing great work for our most at-risk. We’re gonna match all donations up to 25k. Make us spend this Sunny money, damnit. Link to the GoFundMe page in bio,” with Kaitlin adding, “If you guys collectively make it to $50K raised for @philabundance by the end of today, @robmcelhenney and I will donate $35,000. Link in bio! This organization is doing amazing work to help feed people in need in a city that means so much to us. We know times are tough and people are scared. The $10 donations almost mean more to us than the bigger ones. We see you. And we are so grateful. ♥️”

1 Rob McElheney Co-Owns The Wrexham Association Football Club (With Ryan Reynolds)

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’ relationship is an interesting one. Back in November 2020, Rob and Ryan teamed up to purchase The Wrexham Association Football Club. After asking an adviser about the feasibility of the freshly purchased, lower tier club competing in the Premiere League, McElhenney said this to ESPN.com,"I don't understand why, if that you can theoretically get there -- we clearly have the structure and the system potentially to allow for us to grow at scale -- why not dream big?"
