Over the last several years, Ronan Farrow has become one of the most feared names for anyone who has been in power in the media that abused their position of authority. A journalist who has broken stories about several rich and famous people who’ve abused people, Ronan has made a name for himself as someone who can find the hidden truths. Long before he built his own reputation, Ronan was known for something completely different, being the son of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen.Related: Woody Allen's Ex Secret Teen Lover Doesn't Regret Their Relationship, Here's WhyOn top of playing a huge role in exposing several celebrity abusers, Ronan Farrow has helped his sister Dylan Farrow in her battle to inform the world their father Woody Allen abused her. Of course, Allen has denied abusing Dylan and Javier Bardem once wrote off the accusations as “just gossip”. However, many celebrities who worked with Allen have expressed their regrets. With all of that in mind, it certainly seems like it would be nice for Ronan if the rumors that Frank Sinatra is his real father with true. While that is far from confirmed, it does beg an obvious question, did Ronan have a relationship with Frank?

Why People Believe Frank Sinatra May Be Ronan Farrow’s Father

From 1966 until 1968 Mia Farrow was married to Frank Sinatra and then, from 1980 until 1992, she was in a committed relationship with Woody Allen. When Mia gave birth to her son Ronan Farrow in 1987, everyone assumed that Woody was the boy’s father. In the years since then, however, many people have come to question that and there are a couple of reasons that is the case.

First off, there is an extremely obvious reason why many observers have come to question who Ronan Farrow’s biological father is. When looking at a photo of Ronan, there is no denying that he really doesn’t look like Woody and he has a striking resemblance to Frank. Of course, it may be a coincidence that Ronan looks like Frank and not Woody as he could get his looks from his mom, Mia Farrow.

Putting aside the way Ronan Farrow looks, there is another reason to think he may be Frank Sinatra’s son, his mom Mia Farrow is open to the idea. When Mia Farrow was interviewed for a 2013 Vanity Fair profile that will be touched on later in this article, she was asked if Frank could be Ronan’s father. In response, Mia simply responded “possibly”.

For his part, Ronan Farrow has made it clear that despite being estranged from him, Woody Allen was his father growing up. “Woody Allen, legally, ethically, personally was absolutely a father in our family." However, when the famous director was interviewed by New York magazine in 2018, Woody was open to the idea that Frank Sinatra might be Ronan’s biological father. "In my opinion, he's my child … I think he is, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. I paid for child support for him for his whole childhood, and I don't think that's very fair if he's not mine.

Ronan Farrow’s Relationship With His Rumored Father, Frank Sinatra

Throughout Ronan Farrow’s career, the celebrated journalist has spent a lot of time focused on what has gone on behind other people’s closed doors. On top of that, Ronan has also had a role in shining a spotlight on the accusations that surround his own family. Despite all that, just like a lot of other journalists, Ronan has never seemed overly interested in talking about his own personal life.

Ever since Ronan Farrow has been in the public eye, he has been in many situations in which people around him asked if Frank Sinatra is his true father. For example, when Ronan appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher, the host ended the interview by referencing the rumors about who his father is. Despite the constant questions, Ronan has never seemed enthusiastic about talking about Frank.

Thanks to a 2013 Vanity Fair profile of Mia Farrow, Ronan Farrow’s relationship with Frank Sinatra isn’t a mystery. For example, in that profile, it was revealed that when Frank died, Mia attended his funeral with Ronan by her side. On top of that, the profile revealed that Frank’s first wife Nancy Sinatra Sr. and his eldest daughter, Nancy Sinatra Jr., fuss over and cook for Ronan “like a grandmother”.

While it is interesting to note that Frank Sinatra’s first wife and his eldest daughter love Ronan Farrow, that doesn’t inherently mean that the singer had a relationship with Mia Farrow’s son. As it turns out, the person who wrote the aforementioned Mia Farrow profile asked Nancy Sinatra Jr. about Mia’s son and Frank’s daughter made it clear Ronan was like a member of the Sinatra family. “He is a big part of us, and we are blessed to have him in our lives.”

Again, that quote doesn’t directly address Ronan Farrow having a relationship with his rumored father Frank Sinatra. However, if Nancy Sinatra Jr. considers Mia Farrow’s son to be a member of her family, that seems very revealing. On top of that, Frank’s best friend once told the Los Angeles Times that the deceased singer and Mia remained close until his passing. Given all of the available information, including the fact that Ronan went to Frank’s funeral, it seems all but certain that Ronan had a close relationship with the singer. Still, it is important to note that isn’t completely confirmed.
