Scarlett Johansson is only 36 and she's already been divorced twice in her life.

Her first marriage to Ryan Reynolds was disastrous and her second marriage, to the French advertising agent/journalist/art curator, Romain Dauriac, had a similar fate. But at least she got her daughter Rose out of it.

Now she's in her third marriage to SNL Weekend Update co-host, Colin Jost, and from the looks of it, it seems like the third time really is a charm. But what is her relationship like with her ex-baby daddy and what has it been like co-parenting Rose?

Their Divorce Was Messy

Johansson and Dauriac were first spotted together in 2012, on a date in New York City. A mutual friend, tattoo artist, Fuzi, allegedly hook them up. A year after they were first seen together, they were engaged and in what some called a "whirlwind romance."

They split most of their time living between New York and Paris and in 2014, Johansson became pregnant with their daughter. She gave birth in August and the pair married in a very private ceremony in Philipsburg, Montana that October.

A source told E! News at the time that the newlyweds "went horseback riding on the trails on the ranch and hiked to the Top of the World mountain peak on the ranch where they saw beautiful views."

Johansson kept her family life private for the most part but fans speculated that they'd split around 2016. They were right because Johansson filed for divorce not long after citing that the marriage was "irretrievably broken."

The divorce turned messy though and a custody battle for Rose erupted. Unfortunately for Johansson, she was unable to keep it private.

When Johansson filed for divorce she wanted to have joint and primary custody at the same time. Dauriac did not like this at all because he'd become Rose's caretaker while she worked.

So he had his lawyer publicly state that Johansson's requests were unrealistic given that she is an A-list actress constantly working on a new blockbuster.

Dauriac was surprised by the divorce, to begin with. His lawyer Hal Mayerson, said Dauriac was "shocked" by the divorce and "viewed it as a pre-emptive strike in a potential custody battle."

After that, Dauriac filed for joint and primary custody right back. He also filed for "economic relief" for child support and counsel fees and requested that he take Rose back to France to raise her because Johansson's busy schedule wouldn't allow her to be able to raise Rose.

"He believes that her schedule makes it impossible for her to have [primary] physical custody," Mayerson said.

During the legal battle, Johansson released a statement that said she'd never talk about her divorce publicly.

"As a devoted mother and private person and with complete awareness that my daughter will one day be old enough to read the news about herself, I would only like to say that I will never, ever be commenting on the dissolution of my marriage. Out of respect for my desires as a parent and out of respect for all working moms, it is with kindness that I ask other parties involved and the media to do the same."

Their divorce settled in 2017 and so did their custody battle. Now they continue to raise Rose without much struggle. They released a joint statement that revealed their main focus was raising Rose in a good environment.

"We remain close friends and co-parents with a shared commitment to raising our daughter in a loving and compassionate environment," the statement said.

Co-Parenting Rose Has Its Challenges, According To Johansson

Despite the fact that Johansson stated she'd never talk about her divorce, she has since revealed what it has been like co-parenting Rose with Dauriac. According to her, it hasn't always been great.

"You know, understanding what it is to co-parent — that’s a very specific thing. It’s hard to raise a child with someone you’re no longer with. It’s hard," she told Vanity Fair. "It’s not probably how it’s ‘supposed to be’ — in quotes — or whatever … But, you know, I think my ex and I do it as well as we can. You have to prioritize your child and not put yourself in the middle. It has its challenges."

We don't know what those challenges have been exactly, but we do know that Johansson has her new husband to help ease her stress about it all.

According to Us Weekly, Jost is the perfect father figure for little Rose, who is reportedly obsessed with her new step-father.

"Colin is a great father figure for Rose," a source said. "He loves playing with her and she is obsessed with him."

We hope that Johansson and Jost can build a great life together and she and Dauriac can find level ground with each other as their daughter grows up. But Johansson has said that being monogamous is "unnatural" so who knows really? What's good is that she's not a black widow in real life.
