Prince Charles will reportedly ensure that his two-year-old grandson Archie will never be a Prince. According to The Mail on Sunday Harry and Meghan's son will have no place along the new "slimmed-down Monarchy" after Charles becomes King.
The move has allegedly angered the Sussexes and is thought to have prompted the estrangement of Prince Harry and his father. Yet sources insist Charles is determined to limit the number of key Royals, believing the British public does not wish to pay for an ever-expanding Monarchy.
Charles has reportedly already told the Sussexes that he will change key legal documents to ensure that Archie cannot get the title he would once have inherited by right.
"Harry and Meghan were told Archie would never be a Prince, even when Charles became King," confirmed the source.
In March, Harry and Meghan spoke to Oprah Winfrey about the relentless attacks by the British tabloid press.
Meghan argued son Archie, unlike his first cousins does not have an HRH title.
Meghan revealed that during discussions about Archie's title, some members of the family had “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”
This prompted some royal fans to accuse Prince Charles of being "racist."
"So it was him that made the comment about the babies skin color," one alleged.
"I think the Queen will outlive Charles just so he doesn’t become King," a second wrote.
"That black part stressing him" a third joked.
But some royal fans felt that Charles is only doing what is best for the royal family - pointing out that Harry and Meghan left royal duties.
"Charles is right, if the Monarchy is to continue it must be slimmed down," one person wrote online.
'His idea of a slimmed down monarchy was announced long before Harry married Meghan, so it has nothing to do with her. Stop playing the racism card!" a second added.
"This was always the plan to slim down the monarchy... although Harry and Megan probably made the decision a lot easier by announcing their wish to step down from senior Royal duties. And as the Queen said, you can't be half in and half out. It's all or nothing. Harry and Meghan will be fine," a third commented.
Meanwhile Prince Harry has been criticized after making more revelations about the Royal Family in a bonus episode of his Apple+ TV show.
The sixth in the line of succession to the British throne, told viewers he and Oprah Winfrey started planning The Me You Can't See series two years ago.
Confirming that the Duke Of Sussex was already taking steps towards a new life away from royal duties before he emigrated with Meghan and Archie in January 2020.
