There is growing resentment at the Sussexes after their decision not share son's Archie's face to celebrate his second birthday.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry released a new picture of their son on their Archewell website last night. It shows Duke, 36, and Duchess of Sussex's firstborn holding balloons at the couple's $14million Montecito mansion, while facing away from the camera.

It's not the first time that Archie's face hasn't been visible.

An official photograph shared by Meghan, 39, and Harry, with their son's head turned into his mother's chest in an image released to mark International Women's Day.

The couple's Christmas card last year was a sweet illustration of the family-of-three, crafted from a picture taken by Meghan's mother.

It caused royal fans to brand the latest picture "pointless."

"Photos like this are pointless. It's like saying look what I have got - but you are not allowed to see it!! People would rather see a normal photo like those taken by Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, of George, Charlotte and Louis," one fan wrote online.

"Another sad photo. On his own, with his back to the camera and dull sepia tones," a shady comment read.

"It's a nonsense photo. They should have just published nothing," a third chimed in.

"He has lots of things to play with... but no cousins," a fourth commented.

The latest picture comes after Prince Harry received a standing ovation a speech at a star-studded concert in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Harry, 36, told a audience of vaccinated frontline workers "every single one of you are awesome" before urging them to "look beyond ourselves" as he joined A-list Hollywood celebrities at Vax Live.

After the announcer read out his introduction, the royal walked onto the stage to a rock star-style reception.
