The Australian DJ and actress, known for her roles on Orange Is The New Black and the Arrowverse series Batwoman, will star in upcoming thriller Vanquish alongside the Oscar-winning actor.

If You Call Ruby Rose, You'll Get To Hear Morgan Freeman

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Rose revealed she asked Freeman to record a voicemail for her.

“He’s one of my idols, he’s an amazing actor, he’s on that list of people you wanna work with, right?” Rose said of her co-star.

She then explained that she couldn’t refrain from asking Freeman to use his voice to record a special voicemail message for her. Freeman, of course, accepted.

“So now, when people call me, they get to hear Morgan Freeman,” Rose said, before letting Fallon’s audience hear the message in question.

"You’re reached Ruby Rose. Leave a number. Maybe she’ll call you back,” Freeman says in the deep signature tone of voice that contributed to his popularity.

“That’s it for the rest of your life,” commented Fallon.

“It will never change,” confirmed Rose.

Ruby Rose Discusses Leaving 'Batwoman'

The actress also opened up on her sudden departure from Batwoman after starring as Kate Kane for just one season, cut short due to the current pandemic.

“We were in such a weird position because we had to shut down before we could finish the season because of Covid, and then we went into lockdown…” Rose explained.

She said she had time to reflect on her role during quarantine and had a “honest, good chat” with Warner Bros and executive producer Greg Berlanti about the direction of the show.

“We mutually agreed that […] we had done what we set out to do,” she continued.

The show was praised for featuring Rose, who’s openly bisexual, as Batwoman, the first lesbian superhero in a stand-alone series.

“I’m so proud of what we do, I had so much fun,” she then said, showing there’s no hard feelings after she exited the project.

“And I do really feel like it was right for the show to pass the mantle on to someone else, there’s gonna be many iterations of Batwoman,” Rose also said.

Black American actress Javicia Leslie will now don the Batwoman costume as Ryan Wilder, hence a different role than the one originated by Rose.

“I can’t wait to watch season two,” Rose finally said.

The second season of Batwoman will premiere on The CW in January 2021
