It is trouble in housewife paradise again as another Real Housewives marriage takes a nose-dive and ends in divorce.
Last week, Erika Jayne (also known as Erika Girardi) revealed that she and her husband Tom Girardi would be splitting up after 21 years of marriage. We took the time to count them off and have come to the conclusion that this split makes for the 36th Real Housewives couple that divorces since the start of the franchise! Quite the astronomical rate.
Just days after the Erika and Tom's split was announced, her former Dancing With The Stars dance partner, the very attractive Gleb Savchenko also announced that he and wife Elena Samodanova would be splitting up. In statements made to the press just yesterday, Elena accused Gleb of “ongoing infidelity” and said that “no wife should ever stand by and watch while another woman gifts her husband expensive presents, lures him out to dinners and seduces him at every turn”. While none of that directly suggests that Girardi ison the other side of this affair, fans have started piecing the story together.
Fans also made note of the multiple instances that the Dancing With The Stars couple was seen together in public, often times snapped grabbing coffee by paparazzi even when they did not have any rehearsals scheduled together. As dance partners, Erika and Gleb nabbed 9th place on season 24 of DWTS, with their dance repertoire including hot numbers like the salsa and the waltz.
Erika and Tom had met when Erika was a waitress at the iconic West Hollywood restaurant Chasen’s and got married shortly thereafter. Erika found herself repeatedly defending their 33-year age gap on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, going so far as to say that people who are criticizing the couple should first “go get a 20-year marriage, then come f–king talk to me”.
Eighty-one year old Tom Girardi is a well known lawyer in Los Angeles, and is famous for having been one of the attorneys involved in building a case against PG&E back in 1993 for the toxic chemicals scandal made famous by Erin Brockovich. It is noteworthy to mention that 49-year old Erika was the one to file for the divorce in this instance, and not Tom.
Though Erika had initially said that it was her “absolute wish to proceed through this process with respect and with the privacy that both Tom and I deserved. I request others give us that privacy as well,” suffice to say that didn't stop fan theories and a ton of controversy from arising.
