4 His Brothers Indirectly Helped Him Prepare For Deadpool

As most fans can imagine, preparing for his epic role in Deadpool wasn't simple for Ryan Reynolds, and it took a whole lot of hard work. However, he revealed to fans that this is a role he felt instantly connected to. During his interview with People, he revealed; “It’s something I always related to and I think that’s why I connected to the character 11 years ago. As a kid, I was the youngest of four boys. I wasn’t considered a younger brother, I was considered a moving target.” His role in Deadpool wasn't easy, but he admits that growing up with his brothers was essentially lifelong training that he was able to draw upon.  He went on to say; “The way I stayed alive was with my mouth because I’m not going to win with my fists. I felt like I was sort of rehearsing for Deadpool from the get-go.”

3 Ryan Has A Special Bond With Jeff

Ryan is fond of all his brothers and they each relate to one another in different ways. He has expressed that he is closest to his brother Jeff, and they seem to share a very special bond.

Many fans may be surprised to learn that Ryan Reynolds' father was a police officer, and his brother Jeffrey is too. Following along in his fathers' footsteps, Jeff dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community and is a police officer in Canada. Jeff is the quieter of all four brothers in the sense that he doesn't seem to engage with anyone on social media.

He seems to be a private person overall, as Ryan hasn't revealed much about Jeff along the way. He is proud of Jeff's career a dedicated policeman but respectfully keeps the rest of his details out of the public sphere.

2 His Brother Terry Is A Mountie

It seems the policing apple really didn't fall far from the tree, with two out of four children deciding to follow their fathers' footsteps and become police officers. Terry has decided to take his policing efforts to the next level and has become a Mountie in British Columbia, Canada, just like his father, James. This is considered to be one of the highest levels of policing, and he is so greatly respected by Ryan for the dedication he has applied to his career. Ryan often calls his police officer brothers the "true heroes" and jokes that he is only a hero on the big screen, not in real life.

Patrick Is A Teacher In British Columbia

Ryan Reynolds has gushed with love and respect about his brother Patrick, as well. He appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and has publicly praised Patrick's devotion to his students. He is a highly esteemed teacher at an Elementary school in British Columbia and teaches grades 3 and 4.

During that interview, as Ryan was speaking of Patrick he said; “He’s an awesome guy. He’s also an artist so he brings something special and magical to those kids each and every day, and I’m really proud of him, yeah.”
