There are a number of avenues to make it in Hollywood, and everyone has a unique path that they take. Action stars use huge set pieces and spectacle to their benefit, while comedy stars use comedic timing to their advantage. No matter the route or the genre, making it to the top is a difficult task that it hard-earned.

Ryan Reynolds has been a star for years now, and he has excelled in both action and comedy movies. Reynolds has a few notable roles, including Deadpool, he's a perfect blend of both genres. Reynolds has worked with a number of notable performers, but after one particular movie, there is a star with who he may avoid working for the foreseeable future.

Let’s take a look and see who it is.

Before diving in to see the actor that Ryan Reynolds won’t be working with in the near future, we need to take a look at his previous works and see just how far he has come during his time in Hollywood. Reynolds is a major player on the scene now, but it took him years to achieve the status that he currently enjoys in the industry. The talent was always there, but he just needed the right role to hit the sweet spot.

Earlier on, Reynolds was landing work on the big and small screen, though it was taking him some time to find a leading role that could get him some mainstream attention. In 1998, Reynolds was cast as a lead on Two Guys and a Girl, which ran for 4 seasons and over 80 episodes. This was a huge step in the right direction, and once he left the show, things really took off.

In 2002, just one year after ending his time on Two Guys and a Girl, Reynolds landed the lead role in Van Wilder, which was a huge boost to his career. The film was a sizable success at the box office, and it even spawned a franchise of flicks, minus Reynolds returning. It was a nice string of hits for Reynolds, and as time went on, he would continue to build on this.

Over the years, the actor would appear in hits like The Amityville Horror, Waiting…, The Croods, Deadpool, and a whole lot more. He’s been a major star for years and has worked with the cream of the crop. Things, however, haven’t always been so smooth while bringing these projects to life.

Back in 2004, Reynolds was set to star alongside Jessica Biel and Wesley Snipes in Blade: Trinity, which was the film that was going to round out the Blade trilogy that kicked off back in the 90s. The franchise was ahead of its time, and considering Reynolds had recently broken out, it was an opportunity to show that he could thrive in other genres aside from comedy.

Snipes, of course, was the true lead of the film, and he had a previous history onset that garnered him a reputation for being tough to work with. Sometimes, things can get blown out of proportion, but if a fellow co-star is to be believed, Snipes wound up being exceptionally difficult while making Blade: Trinity.

Needless to say, Reynolds probably won’t be hitting him up for a collaboration anytime soon.

It was A Rough Experience

According to Patton Oswalt, who was also featured in the flick, “Wesley [Snipes] was just f****** crazy in a hilarious way. He wouldn’t come out of his trailer, and he would smoke weed all day. Which is fine with me, because I had all these DVDs that I wanted to catch up on.”

“Then I remember one day on the set—they let everyone pick their own clothes—there was one black actor who was also kind of a club kid. And he wore this shirt with the word “Garbage” on it in big stylish letters. It was his shirt. And Wesley came down to the set, which he only did for close-ups. Everything else was done by his stand-in. I only did one scene with him. But he comes on and goes, “There’s only one other black guy in the movie, and you make him wear a shirt that says ‘Garbage?’ You racist motherf*****,” he revealed.

Add on the fact that Oswalt alleged that Snipes tried to strangle the film’s director, only communicated via post-it notes, refused to comply with directions, and even introduced himself as Blade, and you have yourself someone who allegedly lived up to their reputation.

Snipes denied the incident, per Den of Geek, but the time spent on set could have Reynolds wanting to steer clear of Snipes.
