For fans who loved 'Supernatural,' it was sad to see the show end after such a long run. But what was worse for fans of Samantha Smith is that after she wrapped up playing Mary Winchester in 2019, she sort of dropped off the radar.

Plus, while she stuck with the show for 35 episodes over the years, the actress hasn't appeared in many other projects. So if fans want to see what she's been up to, where should they turn?

Where Is Samantha Smith From 'Supernatural' Now?

While other stars of 'Supernatural' jumped right into other projects -- like Jared Padalecki hopping into another CW show -- Samantha seems to have backed away from Hollywood. In fact, since the show ended in 2019, she hasn't earned any other acting credits.

But the thing is, she has a good reason for it. Not only did Sam Smith share with her fans in 2020 that she was experiencing some health problems, but she also revealed that it was her second go-round with the dreaded C word.

Sam Smith Revealed She Has Cancer

Unfortunately, after the finale of 'Supernatural,' Sam Smith shared with fans via social media that she had received a diagnosis of breast cancer. In sharing the news, Smith explained this was her second battle with cancer, but that she was optimistic.

In fact, Samantha shared that she was planning to have a double mastectomy, and she was quite optimistic about it. She wrote on social media that her "prognosis is great," and pointed out there were #SilverLinings to not having mammograms like, ever again.

And almost a year later, Samantha is all over social media sharing her zest for life, her passion for all her past acting projects, and her love of some really relatable pastimes.

What Will Samantha Smith Do Next?

Not everyone was happy with their characters' endings on 'Supernatural.' But Samantha seems to have taken the show's ending in stride. While she took some time off to focus on her health, she hasn't lost her passion for acting... or good TV in general.

Yep, Samantha, just like everyone else, has been drawn in by 'Bridgerton' and prefers to binge her shows on Netflix like normal folks. She also took the time to travel to a recent convention with friends, where she paid tribute to her past roles in 'Transformers' and other projects.

Of course, there's no specific word on whether Sam will return to either the big or small screen ('Transformers' was a long time ago) at any point. But the actress hasn't severed ties with any of her former co-stars, so fans have their fingers crossed for some sort of a return.
