It is well-known by now, Sandra Bullock's children are adopted. Although she keeps the details of her private family life quiet, the actress did acknowledge that the decision changed everything for her.

“Once you’re a parent, you can’t see through different eyes, other than that of a parent,” she said. “The question of, What is a parent? is really important to me," she told ET Canada.

Bullock further admitted that she would not have a family had it not been for the adoption route, “My family, if it wasn’t for adoption and foster care, I wouldn’t have my family, so this film really struck a chord in that there are millions upon millions of babies and children on this planet that have no one to love them… there are millions upon millions of adults that wish they could be a parent.”

Despite the joy of parenting, Bullock did reveal that she still faces insecurities over it today. "As a white parent who loves her children more than life itself, I'm scared of everything," she said. "I know I'm laying all kinds of existential anxiety on them. I have to think about what they're going to experience leaving the home. They're gonna have my fear but how can I make sure that my anxiety is accurate, protective?"

The anxiety is reduced thanks to her partner Bryan Randall. The story of their relationship is anything but ordinary, especially at the start.

Sandra Bullock and Bryan Randall had quite the first interaction. It was not all love at the start and instead, very professional. Bryan Randall was asked to take pictures at Sandra Bullock's son's fifth birthday party. In turn, he was asked to sign an NDA, in order for Bullock to protect her family's privacy.

"I said, 'Remember that NDA you signed when you photographed my son?' I said, 'You know, that still holds," Bullock stated about their encounter prior to revealing that she was adopting.

Alongside Hello Magazine, Bullock revealed a major bombshell she dropped on the photographer while they were dating, telling her partner that she was bringing a child back home from Toronto.

"He said, 'Why?' I said, 'I'm bringing a child home when I come back from Toronto.'"

"He was so happy, but he was scared. I’m a bulldozer," she admitted. "My life was already on the track, and here's this beautiful human being who doesn't want anything to do with my life but the right human being to be there."

It all worked out for the two, who continue to enjoy great success co-parenting their children.

Sandra Bullock And Bryan Randall Have A Healthy Co-Parenting Relationship

Like other couples, the two always agree about everything, Bullock reveals. "I don't always agree with him and he doesn’t always agree with me," she said. "But if they can take away from that and that is where they feel drawn to, he's the exact right parent to be in this position."

Despite the differences, the actress stated she wouldn't want things to be any different, especially given the family dynamic back at home.

“I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner, a devoted mother. I don’t need to be told to be ever present. I don’t need to be told to weather the storm with a good man.”

Quite the turnaround for Bullock and her personal life. As for marriage, the actress revealed that is not in the plans - though she is loving the co-parenting and partner dynamic at the moment.
