Actress Sarah Shahi is thriving in the new Netflix series Sex/Life, but fans can't forget old controversies that seem to follow her wherever she goes.

Shahi, best known for her role as Carmen on The L Word, is currently starring in the Netflix series Sex/Life. The 41-year-old actress stated that she was drawn to the series because it is "a piece that was written by a woman, directed by all women."

"It was just such an ability to stand for something, to stand for femininity, to be able to be a voice in a way that I felt was really important for women across the globe," she told Apple's Watch With Us podcast.

Shahi is also confirmed to be appearing in the latest DC Film installment, Black Adam, as Adriana Tomez, a major character in the story. Filming for the production began in early spring.

Though she seems to be doing well, many people are hesitant to support her because of the ugly scandal surrounding herself and her now ex-husband Steve Howey, star of Shameless. Shahi and Howey were sued by their nanny for allegedly acting inappropriately towards her in 2016, and being both verbally and mentally abusive.

The nanny revealed that, during her time working for Shahi, the actress would force her to look at pornographic images of Howey, in an effort to convince the woman to run off with her then-husband so that she could continue her affair with an A-List actor.

Shahi allegedly sexually harassed the nanny as well, with reports at the time saying she grabbed at the nanny's backside and made a inappropriate comments about her body and physique.

Shahi also reportedly took part in harassing the nanny, a Muslim, mocking her for her religious customs and prayer.

Though this controversy has been forgotten by some, many refuse to let it go now that Shahi is back in the spotlight and getting regular, reoccurring roles. People have taken to social media to encourage others not to support Shahi in her future endeavors because of these stains on her reputation.
