Scott relocated his business, The Swift Group, which is a branch of Merrill Lynch, to Nashville. He was afforded the opportunity to travel with Taylor when she was on tour. While it was embarrassing at the time, Taylor now looks back on the time fondly.

Despite her parents' hard work and determination, it became clear that they had lost themselves in Taylor's work and helping her to become famous. After becoming overwhelmed with her fame and success, Andrea and Scott, unfortunately divorced.

In 2015, Swift revealed that her mother had cancer, leaving both Taylor and her many fans heartbroken, as they had all gotten to know Andrea so well over the course of the last decade.

The news brought Scott and Andrea much closer. But just when the family thought they could put cancer behind them, in 2019, it turned out that Andrea's cancer had returned. To make matters worse, Andrea was also diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2020.

At some point, while this was going on, Scott too battled cancer. However, Taylor did not divulge when that was.

Despite how close Scott and Andrea got from their health issues, the two remained divorced. However, they have been spotted together several times supporting Taylor on the Eras Tour, showing just how proud they are of their daughter and all the success that she has achieved.
