When two actors have such amazing chemistry on screen it's really hard to believe that they aren't like that with each other in real life. We get that the whole job of an actor is to well, act, however, you'd like to think that many on-screen co-stars and best friends are pretty close in real life as well, right? Unfortunately for us fans, that's not always the case. Many actors on screen aren't actually like that in the real world, and it's really hard to believe, especially with what happens on screen.

There could be many reasons why these on-screen best friends aren't like that in real life. From fights that turn into physical altercations to differences in opinion, and even the fact that they plain-old just don't like one another, you'd be surprised to find out just how many of your favorite celebrity co-stars actually can't stand one another.

10 Patrick Dempsey & Isaiah Washington

Patrick Dempsey and Isaiah Washington might've been close as characters on Grey's Anatomy, however, in real life, the two are not friends at all. A few years ago when they were filming on the set of Grey's Anatomy, Dr. McDreamy and Dr. Burke really got into it — physically. It was reported that the two got into an argument over other cast members when the figure turned violent as Isaiah grabbed Patrick by the throat. The two were in each other's faces, exchanging heated words. After that, it's safe to say that they were never ever truly friends.

9 Matthew Fox & Dominic Monaghan

Matthew Fox and Dominic Monaghan were once close as they both starred on the hit show, Lost. Things between the two went south when Dominic sent a tweet, accusing Matthew of beating women. A fan asked how he could say something like that since they were friends and had good times together.

Dominic replied, "how do you know we ever did? You don't know either of us. He beats women. No isolated incidents. Often. Not interested." Of course, Matthew and his team struck down the accusations, insisting that the two had never been friends and hadn't talked in forever. Matthew had gotten into a lot of legal trouble over the years, which is what Dominic was referring to. It's safe to say they aren't friends today.

8 Ariana Grande & Jennette McCurdy

We all remember when Ariana Grande was on Victorious, but do you remember when she had a spin-off alongside Jenette McCurdy called Sam & Cat? You might not, as there was only one season of the show before it was canceled in 2014. There were rumors swirling around that the show had been canceled because there was a rift between the two girls. While filming, they seemed like the best of friends. However, there were many rumors swirling that they didn't get along and that Jenette felt she wasn't being treated fairly and that she wasn't getting paid the same as Ariana. Those rumors were squashed, however, and Jenette did admit that she and Ariana did often butt heads while on set, however, these days they're on better terms.

7 Nina Dobrev & Paul Wesley

Vampire Diaries stars Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley might have been super close on the show, however, the two really weren't close in real life, at all. At the beginning of filming the show, Nina and Paul really didn't get along, despite the fact that their characters were each other's love interests at one point. Luckily for the fans and the two of them, they slowly learned to like each other. The bickering on set and the general dislike for one another slowly started to fade the more they worked with one another, and now the two can call themselves somewhat friends.

6 Leighton Meester & Blake Lively

Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen had quite the complicated friendship on Gossip Girl. As for Leighton Meester and Blake Lively, the two stresses who played them, they also had a bit of a complicated relationship. The two weren't friends at all. They didn't hate each other, per se, however, they weren't best friends either. To put it simply, the two tolerated one another because they had to work together. They were friendly with one another, but outside of the Gossip Girl set, they weren't close at all.

5 Channing Tatum & Alex Pettyfer

Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer might've been close in Magic Mike but outside of the set, that was not the case. According to Alex, Channing doesn't like him. At all. When taking on the role in the movie, Alex admitted to being a little bit nervous. As a result, he would keep to himself while he was on set, unfortunately, that came off as standoffish, which led to the two not having a relationship at all.

To further keep the drama going, Alex had rented an apartment from one of Channing's friends. In poor taste, Alex moved out without paying four months of rent. Of course, Channing found out, and let Alex have it, yelling at him to pay his friend back and to never mess with them again. Yikes! We guess they're not friends after all.

4 Sarah Jessica Parker & Kim Cattrall

Over the years, there were a number of rumors surrounding Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker of Sex and the City and the fact that the two co-stars were feuding in real life. Recently, those rumors came to a head when the two publically went head to head. Sarah had subtly blamed Kim for the fact that Sex and the City 3 was not happening, which of course, angered Kim, making her lash out and say that wasn't true. When Kim's brother passed away not long after, Sarah publically expressed her condolences in which Kim didn't take lightly. She responded saying, "Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven't already). You are not my family. You are not my friend." Yikes. Guess there was a feud all of those years after all.

3 Debra Messing & Megan Mullally

Although we love Debra Messing and Megan Mullally together as Grace and Karen on Will & Grace, their friendship that we've come to know and love actually isn't like that in real life. During the recent revival of the show, Megan took a leave of absence from the show. Rumors swirled as to why she suddenly left the show, and it has come to light that there was a huge feud between Megan and Debra. To further confirm the rumors, Megan unfollowed Debra on social media. Although it's not clear as to what their spat was about, the revival did come to an end anyway.

2 Ariana Grande & Victoria Justice

Ariana Grande has had another feud with another co-star, this time with Victorious' Victoria Justice. It really wasn't a secret that the two girls really didn't like one another, as they were constantly butting heads on set. Throughout the years they seemed to subtly dig at one another, and Ariana even said in a not-so-subtle way that the reason why Victorious came to an end was because of Victoria. The two still really aren't friends as Ariana reunited the Victorious cast for her "Thank U, Next" music video, however, she excluded Victoria. Victoria even publically posted that she was at Coachella the night Ariana was performing, and even made a point to say that she had to leave early and missed Ariana's set. We don't think these two will ever be friends.

1 Miley Cyrus & Emily Osment

We all loved Miley Cyrus' on-screen friendship with Emily Osment as the two played Miley and Lily on Hannah Montana. At the beginning of filming the show, the two were actually pretty close, however, as time went by, they drifted apart. Miley revealed in her autobiography that she and Emily really tried to be friends, as their characters were best friends. However, whenever they tried, they always wound up fighting, and things never ended well. Fortunately, they seemed to have buried the hatchet as the two are on better terms these days.
