When the Netflix reboot Fuller House was announced, it was some of the most exciting news that pop culture fans had ever heard. Tons of people watched the original series, Full House, when they were little, and the theme song became the soundtrack of their childhood. Seeing D.J. and Stephanie move into adulthood was emotional and it was great to see Danny, Becky, Jesse, and Joey back as well.

The Olsen twins didn't come back for the reboot and now that the fifth and final season has been on Netflix since June 2020, it's the perfect time to think about some interesting theories that people have come up with.

Some fans of Full House have a theory that Michelle Tanner died. Let's take a look at what this theory says.

The Michelle Tanner Theory

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have a net worth of $500 million so it's definitely true that they don't need to start acting again in order to make some money. They're both busy in the fashion world and seem to be doing great.

There's a fan theory that Michelle Tanner passed away after horseback riding in the series finale. According to Reddit, a fan pointed out what they have heard about this theory: "The cast always talks about her in the past tense. The theory is she died. Possibly from the concussion, she got from horseback riding. In the last episode of the original show, we saw that she got her memory back. The was the end of Full House as we knew it. She could have developed complications after the show ended and it didn't end well for her."

According to TV Web, fans think it's strange that Danny Tanner would say to Kimmy Gibbler and D.J. and Stephanie Tanner, "You know, it's so nice to have three daughters again." If Michelle is still alive, he still has three daughters, doesn't he? Why would he mention Kimmy as if she was replacing the daughter that died?

Max says "Aunt Michelle got amnesia" in one scene on Fuller House, according to Bustle, so this theory has some weight. It sounds like this situation was such a big deal in the family that D.J. even told her young children about it.

The Reason Behind The Olsens' Decision

While some fans can see the logic behind Michelle Tanner having died, others mention that the other characters say that she is in NYC because she's busy working in fashion. Danny does say on Fuller House, "Well, Michelle sends her love, but she's busy in New York running her fashion empire."

According to The List, Jeff Franklin, who created Full House, explained that they knew that the Olsen twins would never agree to play Michelle again. He said, "The door is open, but I'm not going to be calling them anymore to invite them. They just don't seem interested in coming. It's been three years of invitations, so they know the door is open. It's up to them to decide if they want to come play or not." The publication also notes that Mary-Kate said to a producer "It would have to be me because Ash doesn't want to do it. But the timing is so bad for us.'" Ashley also mentioned that she hadn't acted since she was 17 and didn't want to.

Other Fan Theories

There are some other fan theories about Full House and some of them include Michelle Tanner as well.

According to Ranker.com, a fan thought up the theory that Michelle is fake. The idea is that after losing his wife, Danny was so upset and emotional that he pretended that he had three daughters instead of just two.

There's another theory that the entire Tanner clan is dead and in purgatory. As the fan explained on Reddit, "By now you're wondering what about Michelle well there was no 3rd Tanner child Michelle is actually a Demon Entity that brought them all together. I know this all sounds crazy but stick with me have you noticed anytime someone is ready to leave the house, it's Michelle that brings them back? Like when Jesse wanted to run off with his girlfriend it was Michelle who convinced him to stay because she was 'sick'. It's because Michelle doesn't want the family to leave the house and find paradise not out of malice but because she wants this family."
