25 years after Space Jam, the hybrid live-action/animated basketball comedy will finally have a sequel, starring LeBron James.

James, who also serves as producer, plays a fictionalized version of himself alongside a star-studded live-action and voice cast.

This isn’t James’ first foray into acting, as he has appeared as himself in Amy Schumer’s 2015 comedy Trainwreck. However, it looks like that the athlete’s “performance” when reacting to a foul during a game has convinced even the most skeptical fans of his acting talent.

LeBron James Trolled For ‘Acting’ On The Court Ahead Of ‘Space Jam 2’ Debut

Ahead of the premiere of Space Jam: A New Legacy, the Lakers player was roasted on Twitter for reacting to a foul in a game against the Golden State Warriors in an overly dramatic fashion.

“Twitter roasting LeBron for flopping in the Warriors game by saying "If he's this good at acting, just wait until Space Jam 2, he's gonna win an Oscar!" is amazing,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Best Space Jam 2 Trailer I’ve seen all year!” another tweet reads..

Some went as far as saying that Space Jam: A New Legacy might be Oscar-worthy due to James’ amazing performance.

"At least with Lebron’s acting skills, Space Jam 2 should bring in all the Oscars,” one fan tweeted.

“The way Lebron’s acting is set up, Space Jam 2 better win some oscars,” was another comment.

Some, however, aren’t sold on the athlete’s “acting” on the court and hope he will do better in the sequel to Space Jam.

“I wonder if LeBron James' acting is better in Space Jam 2 than it is every time he's touched during a game,” they wrote.
