Star Trek 'Ten-Forward' Vodka Announced At Comic-Con

There is a new addition to the Silver Screen Bottling Company and CBS's Star Trek-themed alcohol line. Ten-Forward Vodka, which was announced at Comic-Con, will be on the market soon. The name of the vodka was inspired by the Star Trek: The Next Generation television series.

Fans of the hit TV show know the name came from the Ten-Forward lounge on the Starship Enterprise-D ship where the crew often relaxed. The lounge was considered to be the heart of the ship, which is one of the reasons for naming the vodka after it was perfected. Silver Screen Bottling Company describes their latest product as "soft and delicate enough to drink straight or mixed into your favorite cocktail."

Even the bottle design for the boozy beverage pays homage to the iconic TV show, as it is a tribute to the Enterprise's computer operating system LCARS. For those who are not Trekkies, LCARS stands for Library Computer Access and Retrieval System. Graphic designer Michael Okuda, who was also a designer on Star Trek: The Next Generation for the LCARS system, created the new bottle. His talent is reminiscent of what fans saw on the show.

Ten-Forward will launch later this year. Although a specific date has not been released, the word is it will be found in liquor stores and will also be available for purchase on the company's website. Each bottle is slated to cost around $30, which is not too bad.

The vodka is the latest addition to the Star Trek alcohol line. It currently features Klingon Bloodwine, which was released back in 2014, plus the James T. Kirk Straight Bourbon Whiskey which can be purchased now on the company's website. Both of these products were inspired by the original Star Trek series, with the whiskey paying tribute to the iconic Captain Kirk.

There are various items inspired by Star Trek, but the latest vodka has fans watering at the mouth. However, if you are inclined to purchase these cool Trekie alcoholic beverages, remember to drink responsibly.

What's your opinion on the Ten-Forward Vodka? Will you try it or is it another gimmick? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
