Star Wars Fans Can't Keep Calm

Production on the series will be underway soon, so the actor is taking time to ensure he looks the part of legendary Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi when he reprises his character for the streaming service.

Star Wars fans have been waiting to see what the actor would look like as he returns to his role, and now they have a photo explaining it all! The series is set 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and 9 years before A New Hope.

@connor4real1 was thrilled about McGregor being spotted and rocking his cool new ginger beard. "This brings me so much joy," they responded to the tweet.

"The second I see a photo of Ewan and Hayden together again, I'm going to burst into tears of childhood nostalgia," added @stepkickking.

Their characters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker shared a rocky relationship as Master and Padawan, but their brotherly connection distinguished them from the rest of the Jedi.

Anakin was discovered by Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) as a child-slave on Tattooine who pledged to train him, but after being defeated in battle against Darth Maul, his apprentice Obi-Wan takes Anakin as his Padawan.

@travisoverwig shared "Ewan McGregor was one of the only great things about the prequels. He was fantastic as Obi-wan Kenobi."

@heelswarley replied "Not a big star wars fan but he was easily the best part of the prequels and with the quality of the mandalorian this show really got me hooked!"

On Wednesday, Star Wars confirmed that Obi-Wan Kenobi learned to communicate with Force spirit Qui-Gon Jinn 10 years after Revenge of Sith, which means this plot line can be easily incorporated into the upcoming series.

Qui-Gon was the first Jedi to unlock the path of becoming one with the Force, and it'll be interesting to see how that information is added to the Star Wars universe.

Obi-Wan Kenobi also stars Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, her Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Benny Safdie and Simone Kessell.
