Starbucks Introduced Their Annual Holiday Cups And Drinks...Will Anyone Be Offended This Year?

On only the 1st of November, Starbucks introduced their annual and much anticipated seasonal holiday cups. This year Starbucks did some serious market research and will release four different cups, each with their own Christmas theme and design.

In recent years, there have been some serious complaints that their holiday signature red cups and a lack of holiday designs that weren't considered "Christmas-y" enough...whatever that may mean. Surely with all of these options of truly seasonal cups, there's no way anyone can be mad at Starbucks for their lack of holiday cheer.

One cup is adorned with berries and holly on a white background and another is a green argyle pattern with bright stars. Going with tradition another cup is different shades of red and the fourth is red and white resembling a candy cane. See them all for yourself and see what you think! We're partial to the red berry and holly. It's something different with a definite holiday flair.

The Washington Post dove into this important debate on whether this year's coffee cups have enough Christmas spirit. For the record, we think they do. Starbucks had a lot to live up to this year. While their holiday cups always signify the beginning of the most joyful season of the year, they seem to be going back to their routes.

The holiday cup tradition started in 1997 and initially featured undoubtedly Christmas-y designs like reindeers and ornaments. In 2015, Starbucks opted for a plain red cup while the company stated that it was in response to being more inclusive. That didn't sit well with a lot of people. The last two years, Starbucks also faced criticism for similar reasons.

In addition to the festive cups, their seasonal drinks are back too. This year's flavors are Peppermint Mocha, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, Gingerbread Latte, and Eggnog Latte. Yum! Christmas truly is a wonderful time of year.

As of now, all Starbucks locations will be handing out these new cups and serving up the holiday flavors. Customers will also be given a complimentary reusable Starbucks cup with the purchase of any holiday drink (but only on November 2nd). If you bring the cup back into Starbucks after 2 pm through January 7th, you'll receive 20 cents off your grande size drink.

Which cup do you like the most? Will you be trying one of their holiday latte flavors? Let us know in the comments!
