Twitter was on fire after it was announced that Dell and Sonya Curry were getting a divorce - mostly because many sports fans had a crush on Sonya.
But that dream has gone up in flames.
Dell has accused his estranged wife of cheating and being in a relationship with a former New England Patriots tight end. In documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Steph Curry's father says Sonya has been dating Steven Johnson - a 6th-round pick in the 1988 NFL Draft.
In the docs, Dell says Sonya "began her extramarital affair with Mr. Johnson during the marriage and prior to the date of separation, and she lied to [Dell] each time she cheated on him."
Dell accused Sonya of living with Johnson in Tennessee and therefore should not be entitled to any alimony.
Sonya fought back in responding documents claiming she's currently living on her own because Dell will not allow her to live at their family home.
She confirmed she was in a relationship, but denied cheating on Dell, stating the relationship began "months after" she and Dell agreed to legally separate in March 2020.
Sonya also accused Dell of cheating on her during the marriage - claiming it was an open secret that he hooked up with several different women.
Meanwhile fans were devastated that Sonya Curry was off the market.
"She looks incredible. Just when I thought I had a chance!" one fan wrote online.
"Damn...I was really gonna shoot my shot," a second added.
"Hey a boyfriend isn't a husband..." a third defiantly wrote.
Sonya, 55, filed legal separation paperwork on June 14 in North Carolina after marrying Dell in 1988.
The former couple have been their famous son Steph Curry's biggest supporters.As well as their Golden State Warriors superstar son Steph, 33, they also have another son Seth, 31, who has played for multiple NBA franchise.
Sonya and Dell are also parents to daughter Sydel, 26.
Sonya and Dell, speaking in a joint statement to People Monday, said that "after exploring a trial separation over the past year and much thoughtful consideration, we have decided to end our marriage."
"As this comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus and desire is for our family's continued happiness," the statement continued. "We are so thankful for all the many blessings and successes! We stay committed to and supportive of our children and grandchildren and will remain on connected paths. We ask that our privacy be respected and prayer for our family as we move forward."
