The CW's fan-favorite Supernatural is easily the network's most important show of all time. Months after the horror-mystery series ended its 15-year run last year, The CW is getting ready for its comeback!

A prequel series based on the lives of Sam and Dean Winchester's parents is in the works, as per Deadline.

The project is currently in development at the network and will be produced by The Boys star Jensen Ackles, who will reprise his character and serve as a narrator on the series. His wife Danneel will also produce the series via their company Chaos Machine Productions. As expected, the news has been well-received by Supernatural fans...but this cast member is devastated about it.

Jared Padalecki Wasn't Informed About The Show

On-screen brothers and real-life brothers-in-arms Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles charmed fans with their bromance and friendship throughout the show's run. They're one of television's most iconic duos, and even so, Jensen didn't share the big news with his friend and co-star before telling the world.

Padalecki, who presently stars in Walker is "gutted" about not being associated with the project. The actor is feeling excluded and is upset about learning the news through Twitter instead of his friend.

When Ackles shared the news, Padalecki was shocked. He wrote to Twitter "Dude. Happy for you. Wish I heard about this some way other than Twitter."

While Padalecki said he was excited to watch the show, the actor is upset about his character being left out of the prequel series. "I'm excited to watch, but bummed that Sam Winchester had no involvement whatsoever."

Fans could hardly believe the showrunners and Ackles didn't break the news to Padalecki personally and assumed it was a joke.

"this has GOTTA be a bad joke hello @jarpad @JensenAckles this ain't it sirs we're freaking out" a fan wrote in response.

Padalecki responded, revealing that it wasn't. "No. It's not. This is the first I've heard about it. I'm gutted."

The actors have starred in the series together since its premiere in 2005. While Dean and Sam have died and been resurrected multiple times on Supernatural, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have both enjoyed a massive following through the years. Fans are worried about the actors feuding because of the prequel series, and would hate to see them fight!

As per Deadline, the synopsis for The Winchesters reads: "Before Sam and Dean, there was John and Mary. Told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), The Winchesters is the epic, untold love story of how John met Mary and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world."
