'The Player's Table'

Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino's private relationship has interested fans for a while now, and while Jonathan Davino doesn't have any prior TV or film credits, he's working with his girlfriend on their upcoming project The Player's Table.

Sydney and Halsey will co-star in the TV miniseries adaptation of the YA novel They Wish They Were Us by Jessica Goodman. According to Deadline.com, Sydney has just started her own production company called Fifty-Fifty Films. The show will be on HBO Max.

In an interview with Vogue, Sydney Sweeney shared that she is drawn to the characters that she plays because she wants them to have some sort of journey. The actress explained, "I think it’s in part because of the incredible writers that we have nowadays who are creating more diverse, strong female characters that we didn’t use to have in Hollywood. I also love trying to find characters that are completely different but are still going through a learning and growing experience. I like characters that are struggling with something that is in their own world but is also relatable to an audience."

It seems like fans can expect more interesting characters in The Player's Table. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, author Jessica Goodman shared that since she's from Long Island, she wanted to set the novel there. She shared that female friendships can be so compelling because they are so deep and intense, so that seemed like a great thing to explore in the book. The author explained, "Like, ‘Do I want to be your best friend and like, hang out with you 24/7, or do I want to, like, have your life?’ It’s kind of this strange push-and-pull."
