Sydney Sweeney was valedictorian in high school. She has always loved school. While she may just be the most promising star to come out of Euphoria, it turns out that she has a number of hidden talents, secret passions, and interests that fans didn't even know about. One of them includes her love of academia and the fact that she actually attempted to get her business degree while she was on her way to becoming an A-list actor.

In an early interview for Euphoria, Sydney shared with various publications that she was on her way to getting her business degree. Of course, she was faced with the question of 'Why?'. Turns out, she wanted to be able to read over contracts herself and be able to talk about them with experts. On top of this, Sydney wanted to further understand how to run her production company, Fifty-Fifty Films, which she started over a year ago. While Sydney juggled her growing acting career and earning her business degree for over two years, her dreams came crashing down. And it's all due to a perturbed professor and even angrier classmates. Here's what happened...

Sydney Sweeney's Business School Professor Wouldn't Let Her Take Her Final Exam

One of the many things that fans don't know about Sydney Sweeney is that she gave her parents a five-year plan when she told them she wanted to be an actor. She didn't come from a family of means nor did they have any real concept of how the industry worked. But they did know business, and she knew how to sell her passion to them in a way that proved to them that she wasn't going to aimlessly pursue her dream. This same take-charge personality has clearly led her to success in her career and not just as Cassie Howard in Euphoria. Sydney has also made her mark in The Handmaid's Tale, Everything Sucks, Sharp Objects, Amazon's The Voyeurs, and The White Lotus. But this same energy has pushed her to master her academic career even while her actual career was taking off.

Unfortunately for Sydney, her dreams came momentarily crashing down, as she explained in a recent interview on The Drew Barrymore Show.

"There's so much that you're doing but there's something else that you put on your extraordinarily busy plate. Will you tell people about what it is?" Drew asked Sydney.

"I was trying to balance college and acting at the same time. And I was working at trying to get a business degree. And I was filming Handmaid's Tale, and I was trying to take all these classes at the same time," Sydney explained to Drew. "My finals came along and I was in Toronto [filming the show]. Everyone at Hulu [who produced the series] was so kind and they let me go back [to school] for my finals. And I went back and I walk into my entertainment law class and my professor goes, 'What are you doing here?' [I say], 'Well, what do you mean? I'm here to take my finals.' And he goes, 'No you're not'. And I'm like, 'What are you talking about?'"

Why Sydney Sweeney Failed One Of Her Business School Classes

Obviously, this was shocking to Sydney who had put a lot of time and effort into trying to be as studious as possible while having a full-time job. She even stopped working in order to come back to class and take the finals in person. While the professor was ultimately the one who made the call on whether she could or couldn't take them, it seems as though he wasn't the only one to blame.

Even though Sydney's grades were exceptional, and she wasn't slacking off, her classmates weren't happy that they had to show up for class. She as an actor on the other hand, was constantly given exemptions. So, while we don't have the full story, according to Sydney, these classmates complained about that to the professor who ended up making the call to fail her.

"Apparently, all the kids [her classmates] were so upset that I was able to miss so many days of school and still succeed. Even though I made Dean's List every semester for two years. And he didn't let me take the final and I never got credit."

After getting groans from the audience at The Drew Barrymore Show, Sydney simply said, "I know... I struggled really hard with that one..."

"That's a tough pill to swallow," Drew said.

"It was hard. Kids didn't understand. Professors don't understand. It's hard," Sydney said to Drew. "I mean, I understand. But at the same time it's like I was working really hard."

"Well, I think this wrong will be righted, and I can't wait to hear the end of this story."

"Me too. Maybe I'll go to law school."
