Prince Harry's Early Years And Education

Before attending Eton College, one of the most prestigious educational establishments in the world, Prince Harry received his primary and secondary education from a succession of prestigious private schools.

After receiving his diploma from Eton in 2003, Prince Harry undertook a variety of experiences abroad, including volunteering at an orphanage in Lesotho and a cattle station in Australia.

Instead of continuing his education at a higher level, he made the decision to enroll at Sandhurst, which is widely regarded as the most prestigious military academy in Britain for the training of army officers. He was subsequently commissioned as an officer in April of 2006.

Prince Harry's Military Career

Harry's regiment was supposed to go to Iraq in February 2007, but due to concerns about their safety, Prince Harry and his brother, William, were not allowed to serve with the British forces in Iraq. The armed services feared that the brothers' high profile status could make them targets of attack and put other soldiers in danger.

After the British media agreed to keep his service details private, Harry began serving in Afghanistan in December 2007.

However, foreign news organizations reported that his deployment had ended in February 2008. Later on, he served as a helicopter pilot during his second tour of duty in Afghanistan from 2012–2013. Eventually, Harry left active service as a captain in 2015.

Prince Harry's Relationships And Children

May 2018 saw the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Meghan is a well-known American actress who comes from a mixed-race family and has previously been married. As a result of her warm demeanor and gregarious nature, many people compare her to Princess Diana.

The wedding service, which took place at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, was unlike any other royal wedding that had taken place before it. With a gospel choir singing "Stand by Me" and Michael Bruce Curry, the first African American Bishop and Primate of the Episcopal Church, delivering an energizing sermon on the transformative power of love, it was a fusion of traditional British customs and African American culture. The ceremony was held in the United Kingdom.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex became parents for the first time in May 2019, when they were blessed with a son whom they named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Two years later, in June 2021, they became parents to a daughter whom they named Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. The name Lilibet was chosen in remembrance of Elizabeth II, Harry's grandmother, who was fondly referred to as Lilibet.

Prince Harry's Net Worth

Harry and Meghan are said to be worth a combined total of $60 million.

Activism: Prince Harry

Harry has been involved in a variety of activities, one of which is the protection of wildlife in Africa. In 2006, he collaborated with others to establish a charitable organization in Lesotho for children.

The organization was named after his late mother, who passed away in 1997. In addition, he planned a memorial service alongside his brother William to mark the tenth anniversary of Princess Diana's death in 2007.

After participating in and being inspired by the Warrior Games, a sporting event for wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans in the United States, Harry decided to create the Invictus Games, an international competition for wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans from other countries.

The competition, which was started in London in 2014 and was given its name after the uplifting poem "Invictus" written by William Ernest Henley, received its initial support from the Royal Foundation, which was established by William and his wife, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge (later Princess of Wales).

In addition, funding was contributed by the government through the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) Fund, which is a fund that collects fines from banks that have been found guilty of breaking banking regulations.

The Invictus Games feature a diverse range of athletic competitions such as track and field, archery, wheelchair basketball, rugby, sitting volleyball, road cycling, indoor rowing, and swimming.

Controversy Before And After His Marriage

Pre-Marriage

As a result of his position in the line of succession to the throne of the United Kingdom, Harry was frequently the focus of attention from the media.

When he attended a party in January 2005 while dressed in a Nazi uniform and wearing a swastika armband, he was subjected to a great deal of criticism. After some time had passed, the prince expressed his regret and sincerely apologized for what he later admitted was a grave lapse in judgment.

Post-Marriage

Harry and Meghan’s initial support from the media diminished due to their need for privacy, resulting in negative press. Furthermore, conflicts between the couple and other royals also seemed to arise. Eventually, in January 2020, Harry and Meghan made the decision to step away from their royal duties and strive for financial independence.

In March of 2020, following Harry and Meghan's decision to divide their time between the United Kingdom and North America, the palace began negotiations with the couple. As a direct consequence of this, it was decided that they could no longer perform their duties as members of the Royal Family, and they were forbidden to use their HRH titles.

The couple announced that Prince Harry would step down from his honorary military appointments and royal patronages in the following year as a means of giving further credence to their decision not to participate in the day-to-day operations of the royal family as active members.

The documentary series Harry & Meghan made its debut on Netflix in December of 2022. The show presented an accurate impression of the royal couple's relationship, following the progression of their love story from the beginning of their courtship through their marriage and, ultimately, their decision to abdicate their royal responsibilities.
