Daniel Craig has reprised his role as James Bond in No Time To Die, marking his 15th year as the MI6 intelligence officer. The legendary actor has bid his iconic role goodbye, and taken a permanent leave from playing the character. Craig has portrayed Bond since 2006's Casino Royale, and even gave an emotional speech during his last day on set.

The movie premiered at Royal Albert Hall on September 26, with the end credit promising the return of James Bond in the future. With the search for James Bond beginning in the future, Oscar-winning director Taika Waititi decided to make it known that he was available to take on the role.

Taika Waititi Is Interested To Continue Bond’s Legacy

Responding to a story that announced the search for a new James Bond star wouldn’t begin until 2022, Waititi took to Twitter to share that he was available to take on the role.

“Hellooooooo. I've been here this whole time, Brocs!” said Waititi, in response to long-time James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli’s announcement.

Taika also posted a series of hilarious photos of himself; in a long blonde wig, sporting a massive mustache and using a filter that made his eyes massive, which he hoped would be considered for the role.

The actor-director’s unofficial campaign has won the support of his fans, who believe he is perfect for the role.

“Nothing but respect for MY james bond” wrote a fan.

“WORD! Taika is the sleeper you have beeeen looking for Broc. Bond is ready for a game changer casting choice. Let's go!!!” said another.

“If they don't pick you for Bond... They definitely need to cast you as the villain,” gushed a fan.

The upcoming film, titled No Time To Die will pick up five years after the events of Spectre, in which Bond decides to leave service to live a life with Dr. Madeleine Swann. He is then approached by his friend, fellow CIA agent Felix Leiter who asks for his assistance in the search for a missing scientist.

Bond soon finds himself on a dangerous path as he must put an end to a terrorist leader, who has a secret tie to his past. The film also stars Oscar-winner Rami Malek, Knives Out star Ana de Armas among other stars.
