Where Is Tan Mom Today?

Tan Mom first came about back in 2012 when her parenting was put into question! Patricia Krentcil was arrested by the New Jersey police for allegedly taking her daughter, Anna Krentcil, to the tanning salon.

Krentcil quickly denied the claims, despite her daughter having reported first-degree burns. "I was dubbed 'Tan Mom' all over tabloids, and this turned into the most massive hurricane in the world," Patricia told Fox News.

"It went global. There are no words to describe what happened to me and my family", Krentcil went on. She quickly recalled the claims made against her when it came to her daughter.

Patricia went on to say that the reports were totally false regarding Anna Krentcil having first-degree burns, as her mother made it clear that she only had "a little bit of burn on her back."

Patricia revisited the court decision during her interview, stating that she was, in fact, vindicated, saying that the tanning salon employees had said that Anna Krentcil did not go into the tanning booth.

A year following the incident, a grand jury had declined to indict Krentcil, allowing her to keep custody of her daughter.

Although Tan Mom hasn't strayed too far from her old habits, considering she to this very day, still tans upward to twice a week, Patricia told the publication.

The 54-year-old made it clear that during her time under the spotlight and undergoing an intense amount of public scrutiny and media coverage, she was led to turn to alcohol. The harassment from the public only added further salt to the wound, which didn't help Patricia's current state.

The star eventually moved her and her family down to Tampa, Florida for what was meant to be a fresh start. "I got so sick from it all," Patricia shared. "I started drinking and making a fool of myself."

Luckily for Patricia, her career and reputation weren't totally over, and it was all thanks to the likes of radio icon, Howard Stern!

Although Tan Mom remains, well...tan, she has ventured out into the world of music! After making a number of appearances on the Howard Stern Show, the radio host managed to help Patricia launch her very own music career.

Stern partnered her up with singer, Adam Barta, who went on to write, produce and record a number of songs for Krentcil, allowing her to go on to amass a net worth of $150,000.

While her tunes were gaining traction on YouTube, Patricia's time singing came to an abrupt end when she fell ill in 2019. The star suffered cardiac arrest and was later diagnosed with pneumonia and pancreatitis.

Patricia made a speedy recovery following her health scare and now resides back at home alongside her estranged husband, Richard Krentcil, and their children.
