There’s more than just one MCU, apparently.

Taylor Swift made history at the Grammys by becoming the first female solo artist to win Best Album for the third time, all while wrapped in a dress reminding fans of the horror movie Midsommar.

Swift scored the prestigious award at the 63rd annual ceremony with her surprise album folklore, released in July last year. She walked the red carpet together with her co-writers and co-producers Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner.

Taylor Swift Celebrates 'Midsommar' On Grammys Red Carpet

On the carpet, the Shake It Off singer wowed fans with a stunning gown — and matching face mask — that seems to be a nod to folk horror Midsommar. The gruesome tale of a Swedish cult directed by Ari Aster was released in the summer of 2019 and counts many celebrities among its fans, including Ariana Grande.

Swift’s showstopping Oscar de la Renta flower-covered gown reminded fans of the floral number worn by protagonist Dani (Florence Pugh) in Midsommar.

“Taylor swift’s outfit at the Grammys is the film midsommar in dress form,” one fan commented.

“Midsommar is shaking,” another wrote, adding several flower emojis for good measure.

Other fans pointed out that Swift showed her appreciation for Aster’s aesthetically pleasing movie in the past. She celebrated New Year Eve’s in a bear costume, possibly another reference to Midsommar. Towards the end of the movie, Dani’s horrible boyfriend Christian (Jack Reynor) wears the fur of a disemboweled brown bear, before being sacrificed by Dani.

“Taylor swift as part of the midsommar cinematic universe,” a fan captioned the pictures of Swift in the floral dress and her bear onesie.

Ariana Grande Makes Her Friends Watch ‘Midsommar’

Last year, Ariana Grande proved her love for Midsommar in her Netflix documentary excuse me, i love you.

“never knew how much I needed to see Ariana Grande make her friends watch MIDSOMMAR until now,” Netflix Film tweeted, posting an excerpt from the documentary.

In the clip, Grande and choreographers Scott and Brian Nicholson are filmed as they’re watching Midsommar together on a plane. Scott seems to be absolutely terrified, as the subtitles confirm.

“Forcing Scott to watch horror movies he will never recover from” is among Ariana’s “favorite tour pastimes”.

She also made poor Scott rewatch the most heinous scenes the following day.

“Forcing Scott to watch the same scene again the next day,” the subtitles read.
