Back in 2016, things seemed to be fine between Jimmy Kimmel and Ted Cruz. The conversation was light at times, with Cruz discussing his days trying to pursue acting, but making a joke that he was just missing the looks and skills to make it.

However, things took a turn in the recent years with Kimmel referring to Cruz as a 'slug'. Kimmel also took several shots at Cruz publicly, particularly about an encounter back in 2018 playing basketball together.

“After you won the game, do you remember what I did? I said, ‘Good game, thanks’ and I shook your disgusting hand. I didn’t complain that it was rigged. I didn’t ask for a recount on the referee. I didn’t start a conspiracy theory about the basketball having a microchip in it."

"I accepted it. I brought shame on my family and I embraced it, as I always do. And, I mean, listen, it was a terrible day. I lost a basketball game to a man who ate one of his own boogers during a presidential debate.”

Jimmy Kimmel Randomly Cut To Commercial Mid-Conversation With Joe Biden, And Ted Cruz Thinks Kimmel Did It To Save The President Who Was 'Rambling'

It is hard to believe that one of the biggest stories from Jimmy Kimmel's interview alongside President Joe Biden, was the host cutting to commercial randomly during their chat. Just as Biden was telling a story, Kimmel stepped in and put a pause to the interview.

“I’m going to take a break and then we’ll talk a little bit more, if you don’t mind. I’m sorry. We have some of those commercials.”

Of course, Twitter had lots of opinions on the most. A lot of the tweets felt as though Kimmel purposely took the commercial, given that Biden wasn't making much sense.

“Watching Biden struggle to string together a comprehensive sentence was so painful that Kimmel went to commercial break," Benny Johnson tweeted.

“The clips we have seen from Jimmy Kimmel’s Biden interview demonstrate why Joe Biden’s handlers have shielded him from the press. Forming coherent sentences is too great a challenge, even with a cloying worshiper like Kimmel trying to help him," another Twitter user wrote.

Even Ted Cruz couldn't help himself and issued a tweet about the random commercial break.

Who really knows what took place but in truth, it wasn't the only time a late night host had to cut to a commercial.

Jimmy Kimmel Is Far From The Only Late Night Host To Cut To A Commercial Randomly

We've seen this on a couple of occasions, a random commercial take place mid-conversation. That happened to David Letterman himself on multiple instances. In one case, he was cut during his conversation, retelling a story about Roger Goodell on ESPN. The timing seemed completely off, as Letterman was clearly cut during his story.

Dave would also cut to commercial himself on the Late Show, after guest Crispin Glover almost took his head off with a kick. Letterman was clearly troubled, and took a commercial break. When the feed went back, Letterman's guest was gone.

Ted Cruz also had his own experience of being cut by a commercial. This instance took place on The View, as fans heckled and booed during his interview. During the break, The View staff likely sorted things out, and addressed those that were interrupting the interview with Cruz.
