Humor does not have to be sensible to work. At least, that’s according to The Andy Milonakis Show, which strung together a bunch of seemingly unrelated comedy sketches into a single episode. The totally sketchy MTV program was often random and hard to follow— it often included animated segments within the middle of the show, and in the second season added a whole cartoon series “within the series.” The whole things was maybe a little too meta for its audience, and the show was cancelled after only three seasons.

Now, over fourteen years have passed since The Andy Milonakis Show has gone off the air, and some folks are wondering what happened to Andy Milonakis himself. What is he up to now? And what does he look like? Let’s take a look:

Andy Milonakis, 14 Years Ago

The show was born when Andy became one of the first people to “make it” by going viral. Back in 2003, the Greek-American comedian decided to ditch his friend’s Super Bowl Party, but rather than pick up his phone to cancel, he made a video and uploaded it to the world wide web. Within a few weeks, Andy was appearing on talk shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live and negotiating the terms of his TV show with MTV.

A central part of Andy’s success as a comedian was his own very unique appearance. The television writer has been known for his round face and distinguished smirk. In the old posters for The Andy Milonakis Show, the comedian is photographed from odd angles meant to exaggerate his proportions in a way that allows him to present as “a funny guy.”

But how have the last fourteen years changed Andy’s look, if at all?

The Viral Comedian In 2021

Andy has remained true to his past appearance over the years, and he still uses his body language to create comedy. The comedian has an active Instagram page, where he often shares his sketches. In one, titled “You Know What You Did,” Andy films himself with the camera positioned in a way that the viewer gets a very odd view of his nose and chin. The angle exaggerates his facial shape and expressions in a way that invites the viewer to laugh.

There has, however, been one major change to Andy’s look: a giant purple-tinted pair of Aviator glasses.

Back in the early 2000s, Andy liked to perform glasses-free. These days, however, he has selected an enormous and colorful pair to add to his comedic look. The semi-transparent lenses allow the viewer to watch Andy’s expressive eyes as they act in whichever skit he is performing. The exaggerated size and shape contribute even further to the humorous presentation of the performer.

What kinds of changes will we be able to expect from Andy moving forward? For now, it’s hard to know. But in the meantime, you can watch his evolution on YouTube.
