If there’s one thing that fans of ABC’s The Bachelor know for sure, it’s that there’s nothing worse than going on the show for “the wrong reasons.” In seasons past, contestants have snubbed the lead to focus their attention on promoting their own projects— ranging from Luke Stone’s totally sketchy tequila brand to Jed Wyatt’s failing music career. Not cool!

Now, the women on Matt James’ season have been announced, and there is one lady whose profile suggests that she might not be going on the show to find love. The reason? It seems that she might already have a boyfriend.

A Confusing Relationship Status

Twenty-eight-year-old travel blogger Kim Li will be competing for Matt’s heart at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort this upcoming season, according to spoiler master Reality Steve. Because of her professional goals as an online writer, Kim has a strong social media presence on both Facebook and Instagram. However, some info on her accounts is just not lining up.

According to a screenshot shared to Reality Steve’s Twitter account, Kim has listed her relationship status on Facebook as “single.” Nothing weird about that. But, the description of her Instagram travel account reads: “folie à deux.”

The Oxford English Dictionary defines “folie à deux” as, “a delusion...shared by two people in close association.” Hm... Who is this second person with whom Kim has been sharing her fantastic adventures? Is it a boyfriend or just a buddy?

A Mystery Man Takes The Wheel

A closer look at Kim’s Facebook photos shows that there is no sibling, friend or family member who has consistently joined in on her adventures. There is, however, a boyfriend.

In the only photo of Kim’s flame, we see a man driving a red van along a coastal street. The photo’s caption reads, “I love him mostly bc he drives us every vacation, gives me the window seat for every flight, and although I offer to drive, he knows I’ll probably steer us off a cliff and always declines.” It does not sound like this was the pair’s only trip together!

From Kim’s words, it seems that the lover boy in question was definitely her long-term travel buddy. But is the mystery man her partner in “folie à deux”? It is still too soon to know for sure, especially since the “I love you” shot was posted in 2018. However, we still don’t know why her Instagram description continues to read “folie à deux”—even in 2020.

There definitely seems to be something sketchy going on here. For Matt’s sake, we hope that we won’t have another Jed Wyatt situation on our hands.
