When it comes to some of the best '90s shows, Buffy The Vampire Slayer certainly comes to mind! The hit show first came to prominence back in 1997 and lasted a whopping 7 seasons. The series followed none other than Buffy, Spike, Willow, and Angel played by big names including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, and David Boreanaz, to name a few.

While the show always remained in a positive light, it appears as if there is a lot of buzz surrounding Buffy, mostly due to the allegations made against show creator, Joss Whedon.  Despite Whedon staining the show's reputation, it still remains one of the most iconic dramas.

After Buffy The Vampire Slayer ended in 2003, many fans wondered where the cast would head off to and whether they'd remain close. So, what is the cast of Buffy up to today? Let's find out!

10 Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah Michelle Gellar played none other than Buffy herself! The star appeared as her vampire-slaying character for seven seasons before returning back to the big screen in films such as The Grudge, Southland Tales, and the Scooby-Doo movies.

Gellar eventually returned back to television in 2013 where she appeared in CBS's comedy series, The Crazy Ones. While Buffy is certainly Gellar's biggest role to date, her time in Cruel Intentions is also a fan favorite. Sarah Michelle will be returning to play Kathryn Mertuil for the 90s film reboot!

9 Alyson Hannigan

Alyson Hannigan played none other than Willow, who was a character fans absolutely adored. During the filming of Buffy, Hannigan also appeared in the American Pie movies, which stands as Alyson Hannigan's breakout role.

Alyson went on to appear in Veronica Mars before signing on to play Lily Aldrin in the hit series, How I Met Your Mother. After the shows ending in 2014, the star turned to hosting the magical variety show, Penn & Teller: Fool Us and Outrageous Pumpkins, which airs on the Food Network.

8 David Boreanaz

David Boreanaz reigned on Buffy The Vampire Slayer as none other than Angel! The star played Buffy's romantic interest for the first three seasons before he left the show to appear in his own spin-off, Angel.

It was here that his character set up his very own evil-fighting agency in Los Angeles. His time as the lead ended in 2004, which sent Boreanaz over to FOX where he starred in Bones, a show David has continued acting on for a whopping 15 years now!

7 Nicholas Brendon

Nicholas Brendon played none other than the fumbling Xander in Buffy. After the show wrapped, Brendon was on to appear in a role as a pastry chef in Bradley Cooper's show, Kitchen Confidential in 2005, however, that ended up turning into a one-season wonder gig.

Luckily for Nicholas, he would continue his acting on over to Criminal Minds, which he had a recurring role in from 2007 to 2014. Today, Nicholas has had a number of run-ins with the law and has discussed his issues with substance abuse.

6 Anthony Head

Anthony Stewart Head portrayed the sophisticated Giles! Head's character was none other than the British gentleman role seen in most drama, film, and television, which is what made him such a pivotal character on the show.

Once the show wrapped in 2003, Head moved on to other television shows such as Little Britain, Merlin, Repo! The Genetic Opera, and the Percy Jackson sequel. In addition to his continued success on-screen, Anthony Head has signed onto Still Star Crossed,  Shondaland's Romeo & Juliet-inspired series, which has yet to announce a release date.

5 Charisma Carpenter

Charisma Carpenter played the role of Cordelia, however, much like her co-star, David Boreanaz, she also left after three seasons to appear in Angel. Following the show's series finale in 2004, Carpenter went on to appear on Veronica Mars, Greek, and The Lying Game.

The star had a Buffy reunion moment when she and co-star, James Marsters appeared together on Supernatural! Charisma later landed a small role on Ryan Murphy's, Scream Queens, where she played Ariana Grande's mom.

4 James Marsters

James Marsters took on the role of Spike on the hit series, Buffy! After leaving Sunnydale in season six, Spike moved on over to Angel where he reunited with fellow co-stars, David Boreanaz and Charisma Carpenter.

3 Michelle Trachtenberg

Michelle Trachtenberg joined the cast of Buffy The Vampire Slayer in its fifth season when she was introduced as Buffy's younger sister, Dawn. Despite not being a fan favorite, mostly because her character was always up to no good, Dawn played a pivotal role that allowed fans a deeper dive into Buffy's family life.

Following the show, Michelle went on to appear in films such as Ice Princess, 17 Again, and EuroTrip. The actress's next big TV success was on Gossip Girl, where she played none other than Georgina Sparks.

2 Seth Green

Seth Green took on the role of Oz in Buffy and has since remained very relevant and successful in the business. After the shows end in 2003, Seth went on to appear in films such as Austin Powers in Goldmember, The Italian Job, and Without A Paddle.

The star's most recognizable role is from his long-term voice acting role as Chris Griffin on Family Guy! As if acting weren't enough, Seth went on to co-create the hilarious stop-motion comedy show, Robot Chicken.

1 Eliza Dushku

While Eliza Dushku may be known for her role in the hit '99 film, Bring It On, she also saw just as much success playing Faith on Buffy. After the show ended in 2003, Eliza moved on over to star in FOX's Tru Calling from 2003 to 2005 before she got her very own show, Dollhouse. The show came to an end in 2010, which is when Dushku returned back home to Massachusetts where she enrolled at Suffolk University.
