Love is Blind represents one of many romance shows that have found a huge audience on the small screen. The Netflix show was able to find a loyal audience that devoured each episode while enjoying every second of how messy things got. Some couples became popular with fans, while other contestants made a name for themselves, as well.

The success of the show certainly made Netflix a nice chunk of change, and fans are wondering if the streaming giant was willing to share the wealth with the contestants that put the show on the map. Turns out, the cast wasn’t exactly making the big bucks.

Let’s hear what sources have said about the cast of Love is Blind being paid.

‘Love Is Blind’ Was A Huge Success

Being the biggest streaming platform around today has given Netflix the freedom to take a chance on interesting shows, and this freedom led to great success when Love is Blind debuted and took the world by storm.

The show’s interesting premise got people to check it out, by the contestants had people coming back for more. The show itself is simple: singles get to know each other without seeing one another, decide if they want to commit to each other, and then spend time living together to figure out if they want to officially tie the know during the season finale. It was a genius idea, and early on, it seemed like more than a few couples were destined for a lifelong partnership.

However, after the veil was lifted, drama ensued, and fans were treated to a cavalcade of messiness fit for reality television. It was a huge hit for Netflix, and fans had to patiently wait for the cast to get back together after nearly 2 years. Thankfully, the wait was totally worth it.

The Reunion Made Headlines

After being kept in the dark, aside from social media posts, fans were eager to watch the reunion that took place recently. It was going to give fans a taste of the show that they fell in love with last year, and it was also going to shine a light on a number of problems between cast members from the show.

In total, there were three episodes that aired for the reunion, and it focused on many of the participants reuniting to celebrate the 2-year anniversary of the two couples that successfully found love on the original series. It was fun watching everyone catch up with one another, but it took no time at all for the drama to be cranked up to 11, which reminded people why the fell in love with the show in the first place.

Things got messy, feelings were hurt, and some cast members went on to look like villains. It was an interesting turn of events, and fans could not get enough of it. It only fueled their desire to see a fresh season of the show and to continue watching things unfold with the original cast members, as well. Clearly, Netflix has a hit on their hands, and they’ve undoubtedly been cashing in since the show took off. Fans, however, have wondered if the streaming giant paid the cast members a pretty penny for their drama.

The Cast Didn’t Make Much

According to a source, “The participants are paid little if anything. They are truly in it to find love!”

Some things were taken care of, however. “Of course production supplies some of the basics, but because these are their real weddings, it’s up to them as to how to spend their money,” a production rep said.

This is pretty surprising to hear, as it’s common for reality stars to make some decent money while in front of the cameras. However, this does not tell the full story. The truth is that the success of the show did gain many of these performers a massive social media and online presence, which undoubtedly opened the door for a number of lucrative ventures to come their way.

It’s impossible to calculate, of course, but it makes sense that the most popular cast members from the show have been able to parlay their newfound fame into moneymaking opportunities. Ad deals, YouTubing, and more can all go into compensating these performers over time, and those with the biggest followings would be wise to strike while the iron is still hot.
