Meghan Markle's followers want her to join The Crown!
Internet trolls have been firing vicious shots at Meghan Markle even before she and Prince Harry broke up with the British Royal Family. Although the commentary from followers of the Sussexes and the Monarchy (or "The Firm", as per Meghan) feature clashing opinions, some Twitter user think The Crown should make the most of the opportunity at hand.
Ever since Oprah Winfrey's very public interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aired earlier today, fans of The Crown are calling for Netflix to cast Meghan as herself!
Meghan... To Play Meghan?
The Duke and Duchess made some maligning allegations against the Royal household, varying from racial injustice to exclusivity and their harsh treatment of Meghan in particular. Naturally, fans of the streaming series have strong opinions about the interview!
Recent seasons of Peter Morgan's retelling of Queen Elizabeth II's reign has primarily focused on Princess Diana and Prince Charles' messy relationship, marriage and will touch upon their divorce in the future. Apparent themes include the family's unwavering austerity and Princess Diana's loneliness, as an" outsider" in the family.
Prince Harry and Meghan's supporters have spoken out against the Royals, calling Netflix to "hire Meghan to play herself on The Crown."
"This is going to end with Meghan Markle playing Meghan Markle in season 7 of The Crown," wrote @cjscalia.
In the interview, Harry expressed that his family was initially "very welcoming", but everything changed after the Australian tour. The newly weds were not only great at connecting with people, but Meghan's role as a Duchess was celebrated, adding to her existing celebrity status.
In conversation with Oprah, not only did the Prince imply that he had seen The Crown, but also suggested that the ensuing events mirrored the jealousy shown against Diana in season 4.
In a former interview with talk show host James Corden, Prince Harry openly mentioned that he "preferred" the series to the social media firestorm against his family, fuelled by the British Press. Talking about The Crown, Prince Harry said "it's fiction, but it's loosely based on the truth".

Among other things, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared they were expecting a baby girl, who would complete their family in the summer!
