Stefan Brogren, who played Archie “Snake” Simpson on the show’s original installment in the late 1980s and came back as the principal in Degrassi: The Next Generation, will make an appearance, as well as co-creator/executive producer Linda Schuyler, and executive producer Stephen Stohn.

Degrassi was first created by Kit Hood and Linda Schuyler in 1979. The franchise spanned five main series: The Kids of Degrassi Street, Degrassi Junior High, Degrassi High, Degrassi: The Next Generation, and Degrassi: Next Class.

The final installment in the franchise, Degrassi: Next Class, premiered on Netflix in 2017. Since then, the show has not announced any new seasons.

The long-running television show was best known for tackling hard subject matters that teenagers sometimes endure, such as sexual assault, bullying, mental illness, drug addiction, teen pregnancy, and more.

Hip-hop artist Drake, the most famous Degrassi alumnus, has not been confirmed to appear in the lineup. Drake played basketball star Jimmy Brooks on the show. However, the festival announced that additional details will be released in the coming week, so  it's possible that other cast members have yet to be announced.

This isn't the first time the Degrassi cast has seen each other - in 2018, they reunited for Drake’s music video for the song “I’m Upset.” The former cast members can be seen walking the halls of Degrassi Community School.

The video featured the school’s iconic characters, like Shane Kippel (Spinner), Stacey Farber (Ellie) Adamo Ruggiero (Marco), Cassie Steele (Manny), Nina Dobrev (Mia), and many, many others.

Even though some fans were disappointed that lovable class clown, JT, played by Ryan Cooley, didn’t make an appearance in the music video, it was still a joyous occasion for the show’s core fanbase.
