Regé-Jean Page is on his way to becoming a Hollywood A-lister
A new report shared by The Hollywood Reporter suggests there are 5 actors who are so in demand right now, that they’ve been dubbed 'New Hollywood A-List'. These stars are at the top of every casting wish list - and have bagged multiple projects in a short amount of time.
The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy and Oscar-nominated actress Florence Pugh have been included in the list. The duo have taken the industry by storm recently, displaying a treasure trove of talent in their recent projects. Another actor-turned-overnight-star who made it to the A-list is Bridgerton heartthrob Regé-Jean Page. While his fans are over the moon - others believe he doesn’t deserve the label after starring in just one Netflix show.

As per the report, a top talent agency representative shared: “The idea of the movie star has died and everyone is now trying to reinvent what movie stardom looks like.” Five actors have reportedly “skyrocketed to the top of the town’s casting wish lists” and will be referred to as the new Hollywood A-list.
Talking about Regé-Jean Page, the rep said: “He was lightning in a bottle.” The actor has booked several gigs in the past few months including Netflix’s star-studded film The Gray Man, The Saint and a new Dungeons & Dragons adaptation.
Social media users are confused about why Page has been “hyped”, and referred to his acting skills as “nothing extraordinary”.
“Ok I mean Rege wasn’t awful but I legit do not get the hype behind him. Phoebe was ten times the better actor in that show. He really didn’t strike me as anything out of the ordinary,” an Instagram user wrote in the comments.
“Rege’s acting skills reminds me of joey tribbiani as drake ramoray in days of our lives lol he’s just hot,” said another.
“Because of one Netflix show??” inquired another.
“Poor Phoebe was overshadowed by the hype around Rege for no reason…” a user added, referring to Page’s Bridgerton co-star Phoebe Dynevor. After the actor unexpectedly quit the series, Phoebe’s screen-time was significantly cut from the show.
While fans didn’t sing praises of Page, they were excited about Florence and Anya getting the recognition they deserved. “Anya and Florence for sure deserve it. They been working some time and nailing different genres,” a fan wrote in the comments.
