“Nobody steals from Creed Bratton and gets away with it. The last person who did so disappeared. His name? Creed Bratton. “

Scared? Confused? Strangely amused? These are some of the emotions Creed Bratton evokes all the time in viewers of the hit TV Series, The Office.

The Office has a few complicated and confusing characters, some with...unique job roles. There's Toby, the timid and softspoken man who makes an ineffectual HR guy; Michael, the boss with a huge personality, lots of talent, and the attention span of a five-year-old; and Meredith, the alcoholic supplier relations rep, to name a few.

Naturally, this show and its characters cannot be expected to fully adhere to normalcy.

Therefore, Bratton, the weird old man in quality control who constantly hints at being a drug peddler, a murderer, and an identity thief, amongst various other things, doesn't seem too out of place

However, what many fans of the show may not know is that the inner workings of his unusual thoughts have been put out there for the fans to witness, marvel at, and perhaps even laugh at, in the form of a blog called Creed Thoughts.

In the 24th episode of the third season, "The Job," Ryan explains that Creed asked him to create a blog so that he could express his innermost thoughts to the world.

The viewers are later shown that the blog is merely a word document with a URL typed at the top, because Ryan means to "protect the world from Creed’s brain." It turns out that he didn't do a very good job, though, because, Bratton gives everyone the link to his blog, and if you type it into your browser, it turns out “Creed Thoughts” was a real blog on the internet all along!

Jason Kessler, the digital writer for The Office in 2007, used to post daily entries as a part of his job at NBC.

In a candid video shared by the official YouTube channel of The Office, Kessler talked about his experience being tasked with brining Creed's inner voice to life every week.

“NBC decided to make an actual Creed Thoughts blog and I was tasked with writing it. It was so much fun! Because who is more fun to write for than Creed, who is just crazy!”

The blog was an early effort by the network to reach out to the base of fans that were posting and raving about the show online, driving traffic to the channel every week in a way that networks had never seen before. In 2007, the internet was still relatively new, and was a mysterious place that businesses hadn't quite figured out how to tap into yet. In a way, Creed Thoughts was a pioneering blog for entertainment executives.

He also mentioned his favorite Creed Thoughts blog and goes on to read it for the viewers.

The post came out on 31st May 2007, and has several thoughts that definitely have Creed written all over them. A couple of his favorites included:

“Where is Thousand Islands? I have got some vacation time saved up and it sounds like a delicious place to visit…..The last thing I want to deal with at work is people.”
