Jim and Pam's relationship was a central theme on 'The Office,' but there was a time when Pam was OOO for a while. Namely, during season 8 while Pam was on maternity leave.

Enter Cathy Simms, Pam's temporary replacement, who had some unsavory goals in mind when it came to 'filling in' for Pam. Basically, Cathy wanted to get with Jim, and she succeeded in causing some problems before her plans finally fell apart. Those episodes may not have been the best of the series, but they did introduce a character that fans loved to hate.

But what happened to Cathy after Pam came back from leave?

Unfortunately, there's not a neat wrap-up for Cathy Simms' storyline on 'The Office.' After her failed attempts to woo Jim, Cathy sort of disappeared from Dunder Mifflin. The last time she was on the show was when Todd Packer got fired. So, fans can assume — says The Office Fandom — that Cathy got fired at the same time. Or, maybe she stayed in Florida and found a new, permanent job (and another man to pursue).

As for the actress who portrayed Cathy? That would be Lindsey Broad, an American actress whose initial acting gig was a minor role on 'Gossip Girl.' Her IMDb resume also features a few other TV series, like 'The Burg' and 'Til Death.'

After 'The Office,' Broad nabbed parts in movies like '21 Jump Street' and '10 Things We Should Do Before We Break Up.' Lindsey also featured in a long list of short films and a newer TV series called 'In the Dark.'

But Lindsey's also been busy in her personal life. She's married now and a mom to two boys, who she posts up all over Instagram.

But it's not all audition tapes and fun family moments for Lindsey. She's noted on her social media that 'The Office' notoriety still follows her today, and it's not always positive. For example, Lindsey's dog was attacked by a larger dog and later died. When the actress shared about the event on her social media, some fans of 'The Office' told "Cathy" that she 'deserved it.'

Not every fan of 'The Office' is that awful to the show's former stars, of course — even if some of the main characters also did terrible things. But it seems like Lindsey might be glad her days as Cathy are over.

Besides, she's got her hands more than full with her sons, Harry and Ted, and her husband Sean. The family shares plenty of pics of their quarantine lifestyle which, according to Lindsey, includes lots of online shopping and talking kids out of temper tantrums. And while 'The Office' may still be part of her past, she's busy blazing a new future for her family in the suburbs between acting jobs, which sounds like a pretty cool adventure of its own.
