In a lot of ways, being a professional actor is a job unlike any other. For example, most people don’t get paid a fortune for their work or become internationally famous simply for doing their job better than most of their peers. That truly is a shame as there are some excellent teachers out there who deserve the awards, credit, and money that famous actors get for their work.

While there is no doubt that being a highly paid actor is a really sweet job, there also are some ways in which things stink for people in those roles. For example, many actors have gone on to deeply regret various films they starred in for one reason or another. When you really think about it, that makes perfect sense as actors can only guess how great a film will be based on how good the project’s script is and the people making it.

Unfortunately, once an actor realizes that a movie they starred in is bad, there isn’t really anything they can do about it. Worse yet, once the film in question is released and seen by the masses, the people that starred in it can feel humiliated on an international level. For proof of how commonly that kind of thing happens, keep in mind that even an acting great like Michelle Pfeiffer has starred in a movie she can’t stand.

A Legendary Career

Ever since Michelle Pfeiffer rose to international fame based on the power of her knockout performance in 1983’s Scarface, she has remained an extremely respected actor. Considering how long-lasting and impressive Pfeiffer’s career has been, it makes sense that most fans of hers have forgotten many facts about her life.

These days, Michelle Pfeiffer may no longer be among the most bankable stars in Hollywood. However, given all of the things she has accomplished, including being one of the few actors who’ve starred in a Marvel and DC movie, her place in Hollywood history is assured. Best known for her excellent work in movies like Batman Returns, What Lies Beneath, and Hairspray, Pfeiffer has many hit films under her belt. Also an extremely acclaimed actor, Pfeiffer has also been nominated for three acting Oscars and won a long list of other awards.

Cinema Classic

When it comes to the major awards shows, there are some movie genres that rarely receive much love, including fantasy, science fiction, and horror. On the other end of the spectrum, it often seems like whenever a big-budget musical gets released, they get a slew of awards handed to them simply for existing.

Unfortunately, a lot of highly acclaimed musicals have failed to pass the test of time. For example, when Chicago was released in 2002, it won six academy awards, including Best Picture, and while many people still love that film, it doesn’t get talked about much these days.

Of course, there are some movie musicals that have been hugely popular for years. For example, it could easily be argued that 1978’s Grease is the single most beloved movie musical in cinematic history. While you could point to many things to back up that claim, the most compelling argument is that legions of people who’ve never seen Grease can sing along with several of its songs.

Given all of the success that Grease has enjoyed, it seems like a no-brainer that someone would hope that lightning could strike twice. Unfortunately, when Grease 2 was released several years later, it failed with audiences and critics alike and even one of the film’s stars can’t stand it to this day.

Michelle’s Most Despised Movie

Once an actor becomes a star, they gain the ability to be a lot more discerning when it comes to the projects they agree to be a part of. Sadly, up until that point, many actors are willing to take just about any role that will result in a paycheque for them and the ability to add another credit to their resume. In some cases, the roles an actor took just before they became famous comes back to bite them in the butt.

In the case of Michelle Pfeiffer, the year before the movie that made her a star was released, 1983’s Scarface, she starred in arguably the worst film of her career, 1982’s Grease 2. Considering that so many sequels disappoint, you may assume that it didn’t take long for Pfeiffer to brush off starring in that film. However, it turns out that she still has a bee in her bonnet when it comes to that film.

While Michelle Pfeiffer agreed to an interview with Hollywood.com, the subject of Grease 2 somehow came up and to say that she didn’t mince words is a huge understatement. “I hated that film with a vengeance and could not believe how bad it was. At the time I was young and didn’t know any better.”
