Shut Up! Can you believe The Princess Diaries is 20-years-old. The movie celebrated its milestone anniversary on July 29 and fans cannot believe that Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway) found out she was a princess 20 years ago.

There has been a lot of talk about a third installment of the movie, which would pick up with Mia being queen and maybe dating Nicholas. The second film, The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement, showed Mia working for equal rights on who to marry and despite it going against the books by Meg Cabot, everyone was rooting for her to find true love.

Director Gary Marshall passed away before another movie could be filmed and there are rumors that Mindy Kaling might take on the project. Twenty years later, would the original cast come back? We certainly hope so. For now, let's take a look at where the cast ended up today.

Where is The Princess Diaries cast today, 20 years later?

10 Anne Hathaway

The star of the movie, Queen Mia Thermopolis, is portrayed by Anne Hathaway. The Princess Diaries skyrocketed the actress to fame, and she is still one of Hollywood's biggest actresses to this day. This past year, she also celebrated 15 years of The Devil Wears Prada and reunited virtually with the cast.

Hathaway also filmed two films, Locked Down, a romantic comedy heist film, and Sesame Street, which is set to be released in 2022. As for television, she appeared on an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race. And she is currently starring in the Amazon Original Series, Solos, a dramatic anthology series. Look for Hathaway in the upcoming drama mini-series, We Crashed. Aside from acting, Hathaway is busy taking care of her two children with husband, Adam Shulman.

9 Julie Andrews

The queen herself, Julie Andrews played Queen Clarice and the grandmother of Mia. By the second movie, she retired and gave the role to her granddaughter, so hopefully if a third movie comes along, she would at least make an appearance.

As for how she is doing now? Well, she is currently voicing the narrator Lady Whistledown in the Netflix show, Bridgerton. Back in June, Andrews honored Dick Van Dyke at the Kennedy Center Honors. She starred alongside Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. This November, Andrews will be honored at the American Film Institute's annual Life Achievement Award gala, after a year and a half postponement.

8 Héctor Elizondo

Héctor Elizondo played Jospeh "Joe," the queen's, and eventually Mia's, bodyguard in the film. He became more of a father figure in Mia's life and retired in the second movie after marrying the queen, so again, hopefully he would appear in the third movie if it happens.

Fans will be happy to know that he is still acting. He plays George in the musical drama film, Music, which was released earlier this year. Also, he made an appearance in the documentary, Rita Moreno: Just A Girl Who Decided To Go For It as himself. As for TV, Elizondo, just ended a ten year stint on Last Man Standing as Ed Alzate, playing Mike Baxter's (Tim Allen) boss.

7 Heather Matarazzo

Heather Matarazzo, who also posted a celebratory anniversary post, played Lilly Moscovitz, the best friend of Mia and an activist for many causes. Moscovitz made a small appearance in the second film, because of course Mia couldn't get married without her best friend, so she would most likely be in any future films.

Matarazzo has continued to act since then and is getting more into directing and behind the scenes work. She works with her wife, comedian and writer Heather Turman. She is also on TikTok, where she talks about her life and previous roles.

6 Mandy Moore

Remember when Mandy Moore a.k.a. Lana Thomas, slayed her performance of "Stupid Cupid?" Her and Mia were fighting for the same guy, Josh Bryant, but in the end seemed to be civil to each other. However, she did not appear in the second movie.

Currently, Moore is starring in the hit NBC award-winning show, This Is Us. She also revamped her music career and released an EP last year. She welcomed her first child, a son, August, with her husband Taylor Goldsmith in March of this year.

5 Robert Schwartzman

Robert Schwartzman played Michael Moscovitz, brother of Lilly and crush of Mia. Although it seemed like the two got together at the end of the movie, he did not appear in the sequel, to book fans' dismay. They were not together, as Mia was looking for a future husband. Since then, Robert Schwartzman turned to behind the camera roles. Along with acting and directing, Schwartzman is also a member of the band, Rooney, most famous for the song, "When Did Your Heart Go Missing?"

4 Chris Pine

Chris Pine never appeared in the first movie, but was a notable part of the franchise. He played Sir Nicholas, the man who was trying to take the Genovian throne from Mia, but wound up falling in love with her instead. And hopefully would be her love interest if number three happens.

Pine most recently starred in Wonder Woman 1984 and has a few more roles coming up. Violence of Action, Don't Worry Darling and All the Old Knives are in post-production. He is currently filming a movie adaptation of the game Dungeons & Dragons, which is set to release in 2023. Pine has been dating British actress Annabelle Wallis since 2018.

3 Erik Von Detten

The heartthrob of the movie, Josh Bryant, was played by Erik von Detten. However, von Detten did not return for the second movie and may not for the third. His final movie role was in 2010. The former actor now works a regular job and is married.

Him and his wife, Angela welcomed their first child, Claire, last year and their second child, Thomas, this past March. E! talked to Erik von Detten in January, and he explained why he stepped back from acting.

2 Caroline Goodall

Caroline Goodall, played Helen Thermopolis, a painter and Mia's mother. She always encouraged Mia to follow her heart when it came to being a princess and eventually married Mia's English teacher, Mr. O'Connell and had a baby together. We saw Mia's half-brother, Trevor, in the second movie.

Goodall is still acting and currently has two films, The Islander and The Bay of Silence, in post-production. She also appeared in The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard this year.

1 Sean O'Bryan

Sean O'Bryan, who played Mr. Patrick O'Connell, is still acting to this day. Hopefully, he would come back with Goodall to reprise their roles in the third movie, since he did make an appearance at Mia's wedding the sequel.

O'Bryan has been busy this year starring in an episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star. He was also in the film, Boy Makes Girl, this year. Not much is known about the film except that it is supposed to be a sci-fi movie.
