Well, these days with even Kimye parting ways after six years of marriage, who wouldn't be scared of getting married? We're not sure why Shakira feels that way about marriage, but in her 60 Minutes interview with Gerard, she revealed, "To tell you the truth, marriage scares the s*** out of me."
Her partner didn't mind her saying that, though. It seems like the two have always had a clear agreement about the nature of their relationship. What a cool couple. They're enjoying building a life together without any pressure on tying the knot. Just when we thought we couldn't be more amazed by Shakira's life, right?
Shakira Enjoys The 'Girlfriend' Status
"I don't want him to see me as the wife. I'd rather him see me as his girlfriend," Shakira added. "The girlfriend," Gerard also emphasized. We guess like most women, the 'Whenever, Wherever' singer wants to keep the romance in the relationship. So maybe one of the reasons she's scared of marriage is that it might take away their time for each other, especially with the kids around.
Well, we doubt Shakira would be any less awesome as a wife. But we all know anyone would be lucky to have her even as a friend. So we're sure the Barcelona soccer star wakes up every morning feeling blessed that her girlfriend is Shakira who's also an Ancient Philosophy graduate, by the way.
"His lover, his girlfriend. It's like a little forbidden fruit, you know?" Shakira explained. "I wanna keep him on his toes. I want him to think that anything's possible depending on behavior."
