Back in 2005, Holly Madison along with Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt signed on to star in the E! reality show, The Girls Next Door, which ran for six seasons but saw an entirely new cast for its final run after the original three decided to leave the Playboy mansion at the end of Season 5.

Madison had always been regarded as the person who shared the closest bond to Hefner, particularly because she always stressed about wanting to get married and have the late mogul’s children — despite their hefty age difference. Wilkinson and Marquardt, on the other hand, were perfectly fine being nothing more than Hefner’s girlfriend while Madison pushed for something more serious.

Well, by 2009, however, all three of the ladies decided to move on with their lives as they ditched the Playboy mansion and waved goodbye to their reality show. A few years after the show had ended, Madison came forward and revealed why she didn’t end up having kids with Hefner in the end and what made her decide to leave at the same time as her former cast members.

Wilkinson had already started dating her now ex-husband Hank Baskett, so it was only right for her to leave the Playboy mansion, and Bridget had mentioned wanting to try other career paths — so what was Madison’s reason for leaving and not having Hefner’s baby?

Why Holly Madison Didn’t Have Hugh Hefner’s Kids

Since the beginning of the show, Madison was very adamant about the fact that she wanted to settle down with Hefner. She was fully aware that she’d be entering the mansion along with Hef’s two other girlfriends, but she was okay with that, so long as she was assured she was the “main woman” in the Playboy founder’s life — and for the most part, she was.

Interestingly enough, though, Madison’s relationship with Hefner did not begin when The Girls Next Door started filming in 2005: The two had already been together since 2001, according to Us Weekly, so when E! approached them with a reality show idea, the Playmate model didn’t hesitate to give people an insight look into the fabulous life of a Playboy model and girlfriend to Hefner.

Though she has stressed this on several occasions over the years, in her most recent interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the blonde beauty admits that she was ultimately glad that Hefner never got her pregnant, realizing that the age difference would have been a huge problem for her had she conceived a baby from her ex.

During her chat on the podcast, she admitted that they had definitely been trying, but it just wasn’t working, explaining, “I knew it was because of him. I was healthy. He was just too old. “Yes, thank god, oh my god! When I had first gotten into that situation and something happened in my mind that first night I had sex, where I felt like, "Okay, I did that."

“I like breached my own boundaries and I wasn't comfortable with it. Now I have to make this situation into something. I almost locked myself into this box.” What’s more, the model added that when she first started dating Hefner, she was told that she couldn’t move into the mansion until she had intercourse with the then 75-year-old.

Apparently, staff members and everybody working for him at the time was aware that if somebody was granted to move in permanently, it was because they had slept with Hefner — nothing more, nothing less. Madison asserted that being intimate with Hefner was anything but fun, calling the experience “boring,” “basic,” and monotonous and that it took her a few years until she had left the mansion to realize that she truly wasn’t in love with her ex the way that she once thought.

And if that wasn’t enough, Hefner would allegedly hold group sessions twice and week, which Madison had to participate in, even though she said she wasn’t fully comfortable with it.

"Imagine having sex with somebody in a room full of women who all hate you. And you know they're all talking s*** about you. Like, how horrible!” Madison said that the first three years of dating Hefner were perhaps the worst, saying that all six women at the time were on $1,000 clothing allowances and had 9 pm curfews. Some rules were disregarded by the time the reality show came about, but Hefner was apparently very strict on having his girls back at his home by 10 pm latest, and refusing to obey could have resulted in getting the boot from the mansion and no longer being one of his girlfriends.
