The blacklist is not a fun place to be in Hollywood, and no, we aren't talking about the hit NBC series, The Blacklist.

Rose McGowan, who knows about being on the said list all too well, has made it clear that she could have had a much "bigger" and "better" career had it not been for her career-ending stances on issues surrounding women's rights, and the Me Too movement.

This all came about following her allegations against Harvey Weinstein, landing her in the very blacklisted spots that actors such as Mo'Nique, Brendan Fraser, and Ashley Dubb are all too familiar with, and here's why!

Rose McGowan Blacklisted By Hollywood

Rose McGowan first made a name for herself back in the 90s when she appeared in hit films and TV shows including Charmed, Jawbreaker, and Scream to name a few.

Although she was at the height of her career come the early 2000s, McGowan slowly but surely found herself on the outs of Hollywood, and it's all because of her allegations made against wretched film producer, Harvey Weinstein.

The actress has been extremely vocal about her past, especially when it came to her the incident that led her to become blacklisted from the industry. According to Rose, the actress claims she was blacklisted because she "got raped" by Weinstein.

While she wanted to go on and take legal action against the powerful Hollywood exec, Rose McGowan was always told that she didn't stand a chance at winning against him. In 2017, Rose publicly accused Harvey of assaulting her during an interview obtained by the Observer.

The actress revealed that she had never actually reported the case to police as she was advised by a criminal lawyer not to, as she would be very unlikely to win. Rose is one of 30+ women to have come forward since the New York Times actually published sexual harassment and rape allegations against Weinstein dating back decades!

While she may not have said anything at first, Rose McGowan knew that her voice had to be heard. The actress stepped forward and immediately paid the price. She was instantly blacklisted by Weinstein and his many colleagues, leaving her hanging dry when she was at the peak of her acting career.

In addition to being put on the blacklist, Rose also claimed that she was threatened with those actions first! "They threatened me with being blacklisted. I was blacklisted after I was raped because I got raped because I said something...but only like internally, you know," she said.

Rose McGowan went on to claim that she could easily secure 150 to 200 people to subpoena to support her testimony and referred to a number of legal docs that helped her case.

"I actually have a signed document from the time of the attack. It was settled for a very small settlement, so that's an admission of guilt," Rose said.

Rose now stands firmly in her truth and has taken a new route when it comes to her career. McGowan is now one of the biggest names attached to the Me Too movement as she continues her efforts in helping victims of sexual abuse and harassment.
