Why Does Lana Del Rey Get So Much Hate?

In 2010, Lana Del Rey released her self-titled debut album, which was well-received throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. However, it was not until Lana's 2012 release of 'Born To Die', was she catapulted to international fame and success. With hit songs such as 'Blue Jeans', and 'Summertime Sadness', Lana Del Rey was on the rise, and nothing could stop her, other than herself!

Over the course of the last decade, Lana has released a total of 6 albums, with her seventh only a month away. Despite her continued efforts within the music industry, Lana found herself becoming more and more disliked by the public, and fans are always wondering why. After announcing her album, Lana Del Rey was disappointed after it didn't create any talk or traction, claiming that she was being ousted by the public because she is an "alt singer", blaming her lack of skin for her lack of success in recent years. Lana called out many female singers such as Ariana, Beyonce, Normani, and Doja Cat, to name a few, claiming they have had number one songs all thanks to their promiscuity and abiding by the "sex sells" mantra. Fans and followers didn't take lightly to her calling out her fellow musicians, most of which were black women, sparking quite a lot of controversy.

If that wasn't bad enough, Lana Del Rey also stepped out in early October to a book signing wearing a glittered, mesh face mask. The mask, which was made out of mesh, provided absolutely no barrier to the spread of COVID-19, sparking outrage amongst attendees of the book signing and of course, millions on social media. This marked Lana's second scandal of the year, and many are waiting to see what's next!
