An Incredible Career

Ever since Lady Gaga first rose to fame, it has been abundantly clear that she has the raw talent to stand out among pretty much any group of stars. For example, on top of being a major pop star for years on end, Gaga has launched a highly successful acting career. After all, over the years there have been many pop stars who have tried to star in movies and TV shows without giving a Golden Globe-worthy performance as Gaga did. On top of that, she was so great in the movie A Star Is Born that people were convinced she was in love with her co-star, and to this day people are interested in Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s relationship.

Of course, everyone knows that Lady Gaga’s main claim to fame remains her music. When it comes to Gaga’s music career, there are many reasons why she has been so successful. Gaga’s Health Issues

As anyone who has seen Lady Gaga in concert will likely already know, there is another aspect of her career that has played a key role in her success. After all, some of Gaga’s most devoted fans have seen her in concert many times because she is known for her showmanship. In addition to the amazing concerts that Gaga puts on solely for the audiences that show up to see her in person, some of her televised performances are even more impressive. For example, Gaga’s Super Bowl halftime show got near-universal praise even though most musical performances that take place during the big game are divisive.

Given that Lady Gaga’s seemingly tireless stage shows have played such a huge role in her career, it is extremely surprising to learn that she suffers from fibromyalgia. After all, pretty much every aspect of fibromyalgia almost seems designed to stop someone from being able to perform on stage. For anyone who is unaware of the symptoms of fibromyalgia, one of the biggest is extreme tiredness that is so severe that it affects everyday activities. Worse yet, fibromyalgia causes chronic pain and sensitivity to noise, lights and temperature.

Given that Lady Gaga suffers from chronic pain and extreme tiredness, it is staggering that she is limber enough to perform lengthy dance routines while on stage. On top of that, attending a concert sounds like a nightmare for anyone who has a sensitivity to temperature, lights, and sound, let alone the people who are on stage. For all of those reasons, it is almost unfathomable that she has continued to tour aside from a few shows Gaga had to postpone due to her ailment.

Wanting To Help Others

When she sat down for an interview with Vogue in 2018, Lady Gaga stuck up for everyone who suffers from fibromyalgia. “I get so irritated with people who don’t believe fibromyalgia is real. For me, and I think for many others, it’s really a cyclone of anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, and panic disorder, all of which sends the nervous system into overdrive, and then you have nerve pain as a result. People need to be more compassionate. Chronic pain is no joke. And it’s every day waking up not knowing how you’re going to feel.”

In addition to her comments about fibromyalgia during that interview, there is no doubt that Lady Gaga has brought more awareness to the condition in general. That is a great thing since that is exactly what Gaga wrote about wanting to do when she announced her condition on Twitter in 2017. “In our documentary the #chronicillness #chronicpain I deal w/ is #Fibromyalgia I wish to help raise awareness & connect people who have it.”
