It's safe to say that Chris Evans is the internet's boyfriend. And Lizzo's boyfriend, apparently. Fans are absolutely obsessed with him and virtually anything that happens in his personal life. Whether it's his hair, his adorable dog, his politics, his hilarious pranks, or his adorable relationship with Scarlett Johansson, fans love everything about him and watch him like a hawk. Especially when his love life is concerned. At 40 years old, he's one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors. He's dated around for years, having had relationships with Lily Collins, Minka Kelly, and recently Jenny Slate. Fans even thought he dated Aly Raisman. But one of his longest relationships was with Jessica Biel.

Chris Evans Started Dating Jessica Biel in 2001

Evans started dating Biel in 2001. Both of their levels of fame weren't quite what they are today, and they were totally baby-faced. This was around the time that Evans starred in Not Another Teen Movie, where he plays "a hot jock." In December of that year, Biel told Extra that she was very appreciative of all Evans's training to get buff. "He was pretty good before … but damn. He really got buff," she said.

That same month, Evans and Biel were extremely lovey-dovey on the red carpet at the second-ever My VH1 Music Awards. Two years later, in 2003, the couple were still attending red carpets as one of the hottest couples in Hollywood. They participated in the OA Benefit for the War Victims of Sierra Leone in Los Angeles.

A couple of months later, they went to a cocktail reception hosted by LG Mobile Phones. Then, they were seen at a celebrity gaming tournament for charity, hosted by Mark Wahlberg. Days later, they went to a party for the premiere of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which starred Biel.

In 2004, they co-starred for the first time in Cellular. Evans plays a college student who has to rescue a school teacher, played by Kim Basinger. Biel plays Evans love interest, of course. Speaking with Boston Magazine about what it was like working with Biel, Evans said, "Any time you get to work with someone that you know, it’s gonna lend itself to the on-set relationship. You have to find a certain level of relaxation while you’re trying to perform, and any time you can lean on an existing relationship with someone, it’s only going to help."

Almost a year to the date that Evans talked to Boston Magazine, Biel spoke to Cosmopolitan about all the nice things Evans did for her. "When I turned 21, I actually awoke to find my bed covered in rose petals," she said. "In the middle of the night, he had pulled apart at least 24 roses in all different colors and sprinkled the petals everywhere. He's definitely a keeper."

She also revealed that they'd talked about getting married. "We always talk about it. We both want to be married, and we both want to have children." Biel enjoyed the fact that she's old-fashioned, wanting to cook for him when he was "working hard."

Evans And Biel Co-Starred Again, The Same Year They Broke Up

In 2006 Evans and Biel co-starred for the second time in the indie-film London, and they once again played lovers. They might have had amazing on-screen chemistry in the film, but Evans and Biel broke up only months after the film's premiere. Neither Evans and Biel discussed their split, so we're still currently waiting for an explanation as to why they separated. But that was them as a couple; extremely private.

The following year, Biel started dating Justin Timberlake, and they tied the knot in 2012. After Biel, Evans dated actresses like Minka Kelly and Dianna Agron and was also rumored to have dated Sandra Bullock after her 2010 divorce. He didn’t have a long-term relationship like he had with Biel until he started dating his Gifted co-star Jenny Slate in 2016. But they also called it quits a year later.

"He’s really vulnerable, and he’s really straightforward," Slate told Vulture of Evans a month after they called it quits. "He’s like primary colors. He has beautiful, big, strong emotions, and he’s really sure of them. It’s just wonderful to be around. His heart is probably golden-colored, if you could paint it." That's pretty much the sweetest thing we've ever heard, and we agree entirely.

That comment earned her a second chance with Evans, but alas, it's didn't quite work out. They ended their relationship for good in 2018. However, Evans isn't discouraged. He's even more motivated to find the one. "I definitely want children. I definitely want a family. But you cannot put the cart before the horse," Evans told USA Today following his split from Slate. "The family only works if it’s built off the extension of the love you feel for a person. If you all of a sudden want the kid more than you want the relationship, you may be on shaky ground."

There's a lot wrong in the world, but if Evans doesn't find his soul mate, there's something really wrong. Tons of his fans are rooting for him.
