Although Drake and Adele didn't formally meet at an award show, they were at some of the same ones and crossed paths. They were both at the 2011 MTV VMAs where she performed, and he presented. Then, after his 2015 concert and their tweets, they both performed at the 2016 Brits. They both attended the Grammys in 2013, the latest one that they were together at. Even though, they had never directly talked at those moments, they were aware of each other.

The British singer had spent a lot of time in Los Angeles in recent years and happened to be in town when Drake was performing a the Staples Center. Well, when the concert was over, she tweeted about how good it was and how much she loves the Canadian singer. "Oiii Champagne Papi blew my mind tonight! Best production I've ever seen hands down and way up there with one of my favorite shows of all time. Huge love."

Drake responded by sharing her tweet on Instagram with the caption, "Oiiiiiii don't f--king get me gassed right now I love this woman and she came to the show…Thank God nobody told me I would have been SHOOK." And that's when fans started rallying them to meet.

TMZ reported that the singers finally met in real life after Drake's October 2018 show, which was during his Aubrey & The Three Migos Tour. Since then, it seems as though the singers have been inseparable.

Adele sat with Zane Lowe in 2015 for a Beats 1 Interview, where she said, "Drake was among the artists she was listening to at the time." She was also dancing to him. Adele chatted with Capital Breakfast about her latest single, "Easy On Me" and her upcoming album, 30. They asked if she had played her album for another artist and the 33-year-old said she didn't let a lot of people hear it, had played the entire thing for Drake. “I played it to Drake last year when he was in town,” she revealed. “And I was like ‘Is this what people want, or not want?’ And he said 'absolutely’ but that’s it really.”

She added, "Drake’s obviously incredible and amazing as well as being my mate, but I don’t send it around to various people being like ‘can I get your thoughts on this?'”
